Sitting in a cafe in the high street, watching the world go by, I suddenly realised how many women have 2 breasts! In this new, single breasted normality, I found myself strangely surprised, and also aware that it was not appropriate to look at other women's breasts. Moving my gaze to my coffee cup, I reflected on my own new shape. At 58 and married for 31 years to a supportive husband, I do not feel that who I am, or indeed my femininity, is changed by my new shape. If anything I feel more feminine...
I’ve decided to take up the offer of changing my chemo regime to Folfox plus cetuximab.
It wasn’t an easy decision and whether it’s for the best I may never know but the decision’s made.
I’m currently on a cycle of CAPOX which ends this Friday and my new regime starts the following week. I’ve tried working out a timetable so I can let work know when I’ll be about but until I know how the chemo will affect me I can’t really say. I know when I’m in hospital for infusions but...
So its been a crazy month but I get my results from my surgery on the 3rd Oct and I am guessing my treatment plan .
I have gone through so many different feelings my brain feels very frazzled . I feel like I have a 1000 questions but don't know which one to ask first but then until I get my treatment plan there is no point asking them I guess .
Looking forward to my reflexology treatment I have booked in on Thursday with the local hospice although that in itself brought tears as it was another...
Hey I'm Anna and I write a online blog about having Cancer, I am 24 and have had a rare Sarcoma, Ewings Sarcoma since 2010 so around 6 years and ongoing. I am currently recovering from a major operation to remove half my pelvis and am trying to write about my experiences with Cancer.
I would love to help others through some of the tough life changing challenges that occur because of diagnosis. My blog is only my thoughts and not suppose to influence any decisions. It is a fairly new blog and...
I had already started to make some life changes when I received my cancer diagnosis, but it did focus the mind somewhat. I determined that regardless of how long I have (and let's be honest - none of us can possible know what's around the corner), I will live it with purpose. During the 2 weeks following the diagnosis, I thought about what mattered to me and made a notice which I have in my workroom as a reminder:
Live simply because I want to live rather than spend my life looking after...
My mum has been given a month to live last monday and the consultant at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral promised contact by a macmillan nurse asap .
We have heard nothing and I am dismayed at the disconnect not only with the GP Oncology dept and breast unit but also with the referral to macmillan nurses .
This is our first experience and although the reputation locally of the macmillan nurses is less than impressive I have now experienced it for ourselves .
Why are we receiving no support ?...
My head is always spinning, my brain constantly working through so many scenarios, trying desperately to find the best one.

After 13 nights, (a day early), finally time to leave the Harley Street Clinic and head home – ironic given i now have the look of a homeless about me!
It would be easy to wax lyrical here about how wonderful all the staff/treatment was and how in a way I’m sad to leave the safety of the coccoon that’s got me through the last 2 weeks. Boll@cks to that, I can’t wait to get out of the place. Don’t get me wrong, what my surgeons were able to do was incredible...
Using this site as a way to vent the feelings you can't seem to burden family and friends with. My family and friends are all used to me doing the running about and caring that they seem to be taking theses words breast cancer hard so I am holding it together for them.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram (first as turned 50 in November 2016) which was so lucky as I have a lumpy left breast anyway and had noticed a change and pain but put it down to possible change...
