    One year's remission!
Just got back from my now three monthly clinics - it's officially ONE YEAR TODAY since the consultant told me there was no evidence of disease - it doesn't seem possible. I am elated and vow not to worry so much next time the clinic comes round - in fact I suggested my Onco pre-fills in my forms with 'NED'! He was kind enough to laugh .. I have yearly CT scans, my next isn't until July. I asked him if he was confident in the 'inspection' he gives me between times. Full marks for diplomacy -...

    Hospital
Last night my Dad became quite ill, vomitting and lots of pain. My sister took him to the NHS walk in centre where they tested him for urine infection, it showed keytones meaning dehydration. The Dr there said that there were no signs of infection but because of the amount of pain he was in she suggested taking him up to the A&E department. He was admitted to a day case ward and stayed there all night, seeing a Dr this morning, who ran the same test and it showed infection. She said that it...

    latest on mother-in-law
Today My mother-in-law had her 2nd session of chemo this time she only had one type where as last week it was two. She now has two weeks off and then starts the cycle again 2 types and then week later 1 type then 2 weeks off. She hasn't been feeling too good this week, very sick her doctor has prescribed a different anti-sickness tablet which she pops under her lip. My sister-in-law took her today and found out she can get a couple of free sessions reflexology or massage, she has also got her blue...

    scared about the future
I'm scared about what the future holds....my partner is waiting to have an MRI scan which will decide whether she needs a lumpectomy or a mastectomy. Although she appears on the outside to be taking it all in her stride, I'm really worried about the long term impact for her, especially if she needs more major surgery. I would like to hear from anyone who's been through this, especially from those who's partners have had surgery about how they have coped and supported their loved one through this...

    Too young for cancer?
That's what I thought. Far too young to get cancer. It isn't even something I had ever thought about before, that is until I found the lump. I'm 30. Not the youngest ever patient I know but the youngest person that I have ever known to have cancer and so I was knocked off my feet when I was diagnosed. That was over two months ago now and in that time I have had two surgeries and started chemo and in between that I have learned so much about this disease that I would probably pass the GCSE if...

    Introduction
Hello hello, I just wanted to say hi as I've stumbled across this site and it seems to be a good place to unload a fatigued mind! It's unfortunate that so many are going through the troubles of cancer but at the same time, it's comforting to see such a close group of support available here! I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in my neck following a lymph node biopsy in November. I was expecting radiotherapy but unfortunately a PET scan revealed that the cells had spread to both sides of my neck...
