    Third time lucky
Last week when I went to have my bloods checked, the nurse who had previously accessed my port told me she would be on holiday today, so, using a marker pen she marked the correct access point on my chest so that whoever saw me today would know where to aim the needle. Well... it turns out that my port is quite mobile... and the place that had been marked was now nowhere near the right spot! So after one unsuccessful attempt.... one nurse held the port steady whilst a second nurse pushed in the...

Still in limbo, but some good news at least
Still not sure what is happening to me, what type of cancer i have or even when any kind of treatment will start. BUT had my liver scan and chest x-ray today and they came back clear - phew!!!! Feels like the first bit of positive news i have had for the past week. :) Keeping my fingers crossed that the meeting with the consultant in London on Wednesday will answer the myriad of questions i have swirling in my brain

Hair falling out for a second time.
Hi, I am new here and this is my first blog. My wife is 41 and has secondary breast cancer. She was diagnosed in December 2008 and has undergone 8 FEC chemo treatments. Her hair fell out quite quickly at the start of her chemo but she was relieved when it started to grow back a few months ago. She finished her last treatment about 4 weeks ago and just last week we noticed her hair was starting to fall out again. Is this common? has it happened to anyone elso and will it grow back stronger? My wife...

    Radiotherapy here we come!
Clive is off to start radiotherapy for 2 weeks starting Wednesday. He is really starting to need it as his eating has gone down hill and he says drinking is beginning to feel more difficult, so we have to keep our fingers crossed this makes an impact. After finishing the chemo he was just starting to feel brighter in himself and he sneezed and pulled something in his back, which he is just getting over, if if its not one thing its another! Our 12 year old son also managed to break his arm a week...

    Beauriful morning
I'm sat here with a cup or tea, watching the sky and clouds.....and it's nice! Puppy is the reason I'm up so early as she needed to go out. She's sat with me in our spare bedroom/study/gym, whining because I won't let her get in our bedroom and jump all over Chloe. Today, I see the chemo clinic and ask them where the perforation actually. was. The surgical tea said it was well away from the tumour, and only because of the perforation are they actually offering me chemo. Which is the reason I had...

    fear
Had a nice day. maybe the last 'normal' day for a while. Had a nice lunch with Mum and stepdad then Mum and me went to cardiff bay and pottered about. Scared for her about the mastectomy, scared about the lymph node results we will get mid Aug, scared about how she will feel about things, just scared for the future. Living has a bitter tang to it. Pray that this eases and for other feeling sad right now.... P

Her Pain has Stopped but Mine is Just Beginning
My Mum sadly, and I mean sadly, passed away at 5.20pm on Friday 17th July. My world will never be the same. No matter how long or short of a time you have to prepare you simply can't. The bottom dropped out of my world and I still think in my deepest part of my brain I had still hoped she would recover and we would get another chance. No the reality is that this cruel disease took away yet another fantastic woman and there is now another family in this world missing a great person and are now...
