    Mum is very down !!
Mum had her appointment after her op .. Good news the cancer hadnt spread to the lymphnodes as suspected . They are confident they have got all the tumour out but she still needs Radio and Chemo therapy.. She is very upset about the possibilty of losing her hair ... She is 55 years and still has long blond hair with sprinkle of grey .. She is worried it will grow back grey. She is single and has always been attractive to men and is worried she will now be on her own forever. She is panicking...

    Life is just not fair
On the 22nd July my world collapsed around me when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer which has already spread to his brain, he is 67 and he is my whole world. Dad is going through a divorce at the moment after parting from my Mam last August so he has had the worst year ever. Dad had his first chemo session yesterday (14th August) which was Carboplatin and Gemicitabine, today he is a little tired but no other side effects, next session is Friday. Dad is a very very heavy smoker but he took...

    What Happens Next??
Hi I met with the consultant on Tuesday who has told me I need to have a cone biopsy and then lymph node removal afterwards to remove the glandular cancer cells in my cervix. (stage 1B) What I don't know is how do you cope with waiting for the results, I had to wait six weeks for the results from my loop biopsy and as I have given up smoking, not sure how I will cope with the wait. Any idea's? Also how can the doctors say they are confident this is all the treatment I will need?, not even got...

    Another Chapter !!!
Hi all, Just finished my 6 months chemo regime. Feel great. No more sore, burnt feet and numb fingers and all other side effects that go with it. For those of you still on it, just keep going, it's hard, but when you get to the end it is a great sense of relief and achievement. After 18 months of gruelling treatment, I have now got to the end with NED for now, and so glad to be still around. My consultant and oncologist were wonderful throughout. Don't think I could have got better treatment...

    Day started badly again.
Day didn't start too promising again today, didn't even want to get out of bed! Eventually got my sorry a**e up and at 'em and tidied up a bit. Silence shattered when 2 girls and grandchildren came in. They were allready bickering and had been here 5 minutes. That then put me in a bad mood and we all ended up shouting at each other. Think I am going through a bit of an angry phase at the moment. Seems like the girls are oblivious to what's going on, but know they are not as Lauren (Youngest) is...

    Tamoxifen
Hi Have read on this site and others about the many side effects that Tamoxifen can cause. I have been quite lucky with this drug I think and have not had many effects. However I am struggling to cope with a problem back and am now beginning to wonder if this drug may in some way be contributing towards it. I have always had bother with my lower back but a month or so after starting Tamoxifen it flared up and I have probs bending. My mobility is not as good as it was in the sense I am now afraid...

A first and probably only blog
Hello - I am a stranger to blogs and this is the first one I have ever done. It is simply to say to the many friends I have met on here through PM's and private emails that I know I am hopelessly behind in responding to all of you and I owe many emails! I do apologise sincerely. Since my daughter became ill I seem to have been wholly involved in her probelems and worries. At the moment, as she is a professional person, I am actually acting as her PA in order to take some of her workaday stress...
