    This that and the other.

I do wonder whether I will be of any use here. My experience of Cancer is simply living with it smouldering in the background for a known ten years. Though it is likely I had CLL long before the diagnosis. I have no idea of what stage I am in. My last Consultant said. I should  consider my blood counts as normal for me!  It seems to do little.has infriltrated my spine, but again! Little awareness of its presence.  My prognosis is that I will probably die with rather than from it, so it is between CLL...

    rough weekend

We dinally have biopsy results and not good.  Hubby has sstage 4 unknown primary but spread to other organs, inlcluding (just found out today - lungs and bones) liver, lymph nodes.  He has spent the better part of the last three weeks in hospital for various reasons, was supposed to get out yesterday to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with his visiting family but ended up in intensive care with a respirator.  This is so hard to deal with and has happened so quickly.

He is retaining fluids very badly...

    Twists and turns

Well originally I was going to write this every day, but life overtook me a bit.

Son's 18th went well but rather quietly.  Blew money on a big LCD TV for him which I can't afford but what the ****.

Onc phoned on Saturday in a rather late response to the email I sent asking questions because we had been given no one to ask anything of.

The wonderful onc nurse at Frimley had already arranged for husband to be seen by an onc at St Lukes this Thursday morning so we now have a full week but...

Chemo Brain or a bit thick???

    Dearest Admins/better enlightened IT hands...

OK, I agree with most of the naysayers on the new site format but accept it's here to stay.  Plaintive, but I suspect  friviolous to most, request:  whether it could be ANY colour other than "bile"???....

Anyway, knowing I am being an unintentional luddite...how do I send a reply if someone writes on my wall?  My sole option appears to be "delete".   I'm beginning to feel rude, guys....

  • Coping?
    Coping?

All new to me.  Mum has non-hodgkins lymphoma on her adrenal glands.  She had been ill for a good few months - like a skeleton before she was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago.  She had her fist chemo about then aswell but were called back to the Macmillan Centre on Friday to be told that it was more agressive than first thought and they would have to intensify her treatment and will be in hospital for her treatments and I don't know how I am going to cope with that.  I know we are lucky as there is so many...

    Update

Sorry I havent been online for anyone who is a friend or been reading my blog.  My laptop has been playing up at home so I think I finally got it resolved last night, at work at the moment and thought I would do a quick blog entry.

Dad was at the physio last Thursday and she confirmed that it is the tumour blocking the lymph node in his groin which is causing the fluid and swelling in his leg.  His leg is massive, they fitted a compression sock for him to wear during the day.  He was really sore after...

  • Life After Dad
    1 week on...

This blog is as much for me (it helps to write down everything we've been through) as it is for anyone else.  If you're going through the same thing and any of this helps, then something good will have come out of our own experience.

Dad passed away peacefully at home on 6th Oct at about 1.30pm with all of his family around him.  Although it happened suddenly, we were waiting all weekend as he was deteriorating so quickly.  He had to be sedated heavily because he was so unsettled and restless...

    Talking to no one.

Having a tough day. Mother in law still not home from hospital still very poorly. She wont let us bring the children in to see her so I've had to stay home with them so hubby can go visiting. Not seen her in over a week now but hubby who generally tends to understate things is starting to say he's worried, which means he's very very worried.

We had to go back to her house to sort out a few last items ready for the sale of the house no one to take the boys while we went so we took them...
