    She'll be home soon.

Occupational health have spoken to the hubby. MIL should be back sometime next week as long as we have all the additional aids in place for her. Stair lift has been requested for her along with commode and other items. Thanking God the house already has a wet room. Seems odd that it was the thing we thought was the one major downside to the house when we moved here last year now it feels like a saving grace. Confirms what MIL always says which is things happen for a reason. I figure God knew we'd...

    Mum's had a stent fitted

    Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been on line for a while, still getting used to this new site!  My mum was taken back in hospital 01/10/09 wiith suspected chest infection which was clear but then her feeding peg came out and the hospital have been unable to re-site it.  Absolute nightmare, all the weight my mum put on since being on the feeding peg slipped off her within 3 days and she is also starting to lose some of her hair, which I didn't realise could happen after having radio.  She had a stent...

    The Watch & Wait Game

Hi Everyone, it's been a week spent on a roller coaster!

I walked into Andrew's hospital room  on Tuesday morning and he was hooked up to a stomach pump - I could have cried. He has been complaining of abdominal pains for a week and it seems they are caused by a blockage in the intestines. His digestive system hadn't woken up and it was creating havoc. They put a NG tube up through his nose and down into his stomach - he said it was deadful and very uncomfortble and he looked downright miserable...

    Pull yourself together girl

What a let down yesterday was, the build up the sickness and then the let down "sorry the results are not back yet Terri you will have to come back next week", have they no idea that a week feels like a year when you are waiting to know, how bad is, is there a possibility it has spread.

Well I have come to the conclussion that all the crying in the world is not going to make the results come through any quicker so I have a choice stay at home crying and worrying about the ifs and buts...

    Chemo

This is my 7th day following my first Chemo. for Ovarian Cancer. It is interesting how everything changes on a day to day basis from pain, nausea, tingling in the mouth, fingers, burning feet. Mercifully living here in Spain I can put my sore feet on the cool tiles!

Would love to hear from others recieving Carboplatin and ?Taxol

Thankyou to all who answered my last post.

Wow I am floored by the wonderful advice I have been given on here. I can feel the love and hugs sent to me by everyone who answered my last post. You are all right I do need to fight this thing for myself and then for the memory of my wonderful husband. My new man wants me around for a long time yet we have alot of living and loving to do before either of us move on to the thereafter.

My darling husband came to me in a dream last night and he was happy in fact he took me to a party, I don't know...

    Am back in the Community!

    Hi All,

Am so happy to be part of the community again.  Had a heck of a time reactivating my account.  Finally worked out the bugs with a little help from the Macmillan support staff.

Have started with chemo.  I finished round 2 of 6 today.  Am feeling okay.  Plan to get some walking in tomorrow to keep the momentum going and help with the recovery period.

I had my hair shaved 3 days ago and am now sporting a wig.  It's a new look for me, but I think it will grow on me in time.

    Best to you all...

    out of the trial?

    hi all

after having side effects from avastin, on the icon7 trial, they allowed me one more dose, and to report any side effects. I was really hoping that nothing would happen as I seem to be seeing this trial as a lifeline- chemo all done in may, and this was a way of still doing something, rather just waiting to see if it came back.

after having severe headaches and vertigo, the dose wasommitted and a brain mri came back clearfor a possible stroke, i hoped that it would be fine but..... only...

Day 30 Bertie Bassetts return Journey

Sorry folks been too tired to visit. Bert is beginning to pick up now his line has been removed, Still a bit confused but not nearly as bad. His Hb was quite low at 7.1 so he has had 3 units of blood I thought he was only getting 2  and now looks nice and pink. Better than the shade of grey he was looking.
