My father has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Not sure which is the primary, but will assume for now that it is the gullet. Unfortunately it had already spread to his Liver and Lungs.
I think everyone feels more positive now that we have seen the oncologist and my dad wants to try the palliative chemotherapy. (EOX) So, in preparation for the chemo starting on Monday 26th October, he is to be fitted with a stent on tuesday. We were expecting this to only take a few hours but he has been...
Finally back on the new site has taken quite a while. The last time I was on the old site our children had surprised us with a wonderful break to our friends in Greece and also surprised us because they were there, nearly all of us together , except for 2 who could not make it , but were there in our minds. They had also surprised us by planning a blessing for Bob & I , such a wonderful day and a wonderful week. Did not want it to end. Bob relaxed so much, it was lovely to see our friends we stayed...
Today I don't know what to do with myself. Am finding it hard (who here isn't?). I don't think I can talk to anybody, but I know I should. I should let go, let it out, I know. I don't even want to share what I'm putting here with people I know (have just insulted my wife by not showing her).
Have found something I can do though - I can hide behind my 1 year old!. Even though she's not trying to comfort me, she's very comforting just to hide behind. When dad came over...
well mum got the results of her scan last week and it showed the tumour in her chest had shrunk by another centimetre only in the last 12 weeks. they are talking about now giving her a few more chemo sessions and some radiotherapy. the tumour is now down to 5cm by 3cm compared to original 10cmx10cm. i am so worried she is not going to get rid of this.
the chemo worked amazingly in the first four sessions, but seems to have slowed down or stopped. does anyone know how well radiotherapy workls...
Hi Mummy
I know its been about 18 months since you left us but I still miss you everyday. I especially miss you when things are tough or when I need some sound advice or just a good giggle.
I would love to know what you are doing up there and see what you are wearing. Andrea and I had a laugh the other day about her and what she wears. Her shoes are not very nice and you always had beautiful shoes and you always looked so good, she doesnt. You definately have much better style than she does.
...visited mum in hospital today, she was very confused and was talking nonsence, doctors are assessing her later, not sure if she will be coming home again.
the lung cancer is very agressive and she now weights less than 5 stone and is not really eating.
been told to prepare our self, but unsure how to do this .
Thanks to the Willow Foundation today i have a limousine coming to my house to pick me, my sister and my two lovely boys, its taking us to The Hard Rock Café in London then to the Theater to watch Grease, I'm so excited!! what a wonderful treat.
Will let you know how it goes, am going to try to raise the money so i can pay them back and make it possible for someone else to have a special day

Just got home after taking Gail to a Hospice. Hopefully here she will find pain relief and rest from the hectic hospital wards. Just sat down and told my daughter Alice about her mum and how long she is expected to live. What a brave dignified daughter I have she listened she cried I cried we hugged and we understood our united love we all have as a family. Tomorrow she will see her mum in her new room and will be mature and as dignified as Alice can be with the grace and poise of her mum .
