Chemo

Less than one minute read time.

This is my 7th day following my first Chemo. for Ovarian Cancer. It is interesting how everything changes on a day to day basis from pain, nausea, tingling in the mouth, fingers, burning feet. Mercifully living here in Spain I can put my sore feet on the cool tiles!

Would love to hear from others recieving Carboplatin and ?Taxol

    Hi Pati,

I have had carbo/avastin and now carbo/alimpta.  I have had these chemos one every three weeks since January so far.  You are absolutely correct...each cycle brings new and lovely symptoms to deal with but they do fall into a pattern of sorts.  Once that has happened you can regulate the meds you rake the day before and the day after chemo.  It makes for significantly reduced nausea and keeps the bowels on track.  At least for me it did.  I have the same Ca you do.  My mane difficulty is that peritoneal fluid goes up into my pleural space and I've had to have them drained repeatedly.

I knit and hence the tingling in my fingers is minimal and it is transient in my feet.  Keep them moving, at least that is advice I get from my care team and this all is what works for me.  As I am sure your care team has told you...each is an individual and as such their care and treatment is given as such.  I try to pay close attention to what my body is doing so I can tell my care team and in return they can take better care of me.

I hope I have helped some and did not get too long-winded...<smile>

    Hang tuff...xx

My gratitude:  I still might be able to help others feel better, somehow.

Hi Guys, thanks for that info, it really helps. It is difficult to ask about the "finer (or not so) points" of side effects because of the language. The concept of "Care Team" has not caught up here yet. Has anyone experienced severe pain at their tumour site after Chemo? I am currently enjoying the third week between treatme nts, hoorah, everything is functioning normally again. Food tastes normal again,

Thanks again, keep in touch, Love, Pati xxxx
