    Update from the front line

Well after the bad news from yesterday dad seemed to perk up a little when they started the iv fluids he was up for a few visitors last night and also managed to tell my uncle where to go when he was winding him up all lightheartedly.  When me and mum went in this afternoon he was sitting up in his bed and managing to have a conversation with us and showed us that the nurses had shaved him because he cant seem to hold a cup or anything just now, which is frustrating him no end for such a proud man...

    My good news

Had my clinic appointment today.  Bit disappointed my usual onc was off sick and I had lots of things to ask her but the stand in was fine. My CT shows the tumours have/are shrinking and the Muga result is good enough for me to carry on with the Herceptin.  As you can imagine I was thrilled to bits. So I have another 3 months then some more scans etc but its all good just now.

Hope everyone else is ok too

    Love Chrissi xxx

    A is for...

    A is for

    Alexis! (me) hehe.

I'm 18 years old. Have been since end of January. I'm known as 'Muffin' to my friends, as when I was younger and at secondary I used to buy a muffin everyday from the canteen for about 4 years. Sad, I know.

I'm living in Bradford, West Yorks. It's nice weather, good scenery although all people remember about it is the Indian food. Weathers the same as anywhere else really. When the sun shines you can spend time outside in the garden and have...

Feeling fed up & needing a moan - sorry

Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2007.  Already suffering other illnesses, heart & lungs (COPD).  To date, only watch & wait with cancer.

My last blood test (one every 3 months) showed that my PSA level had risen from 5.1 to 9.8.....  This is worrying for me, why should it have almost doubled all of a sudden?  My GP has sent me through to my local hospital for another consultation (on Friday 13th of all days ha! ha!), but having only recently moved from London to Suffolk, all doctors etc are...

    First Meeting

i am being positively pessimistic as my meeting with social services draws closer. it is tomorrow and is the first step of my tiny complaint. i have complained to social services about the nursing home that my father died in, i have complained to the nursing home that likes to ignore me, to my mp, to the care quality commission. and those complaints are just to do with my father dying in agony, not having morphine administered and left to basically drown in the fluid in his lungs. you know, minor...

    Round 3

Well round 3 starts tomorrow, that is assuming the blood test I have later is ok. I am apprehensive about this one as I believe this is the one where the side affects magnify. At least that is what I am expecting. I have been told that things don't really begin until the 3rd or 4h treatment.. Oh well heed my own advise, one hurdle at a time! Love to all Julie XXXX

    Day 47 Bertiebassetts Return Journey

Pleased to say that Bert's Neutrophls are coming up thanks to the G-CFS  injections. However, his platelets are falling again now at 15. I am not sure what this means, though I know they won't do his Bone Marrow Aspiration while his platelets are low, but they keep changing their minds so who knows. We have a provisional date for Transplant which is the 9th Dec so he will be in for Xmas and New Year again.  But I am sure I can cope with that. I am going to try and get somewhere to stay nearer...
