Day 47 Bertiebassetts Return Journey

Less than one minute read time.

Pleased to say that Bert's Neutrophls are coming up thanks to the G-CFS  injections. However, his platelets are falling again now at 15. I am not sure what this means, though I know they won't do his Bone Marrow Aspiration while his platelets are low, but they keep changing their minds so who knows. We have a provisional date for Transplant which is the 9th Dec so he will be in for Xmas and New Year again.  But I am sure I can cope with that. I am going to try and get somewhere to stay nearer the hospital so that I can be closer to him It is only about 45 mins away but I don't drive. Obviously all of this depends on his Bone Marrow result being good. So we wait yet again. You would think it would get  easier all this waiting I mean but no it doesn't

    Hello Teri

My husband was rushed into hospital on Friday with an infection and his platelets were only 5 they went up for a while after transfusion but quicky dropped again so needed another transfusion during Saturday night. His chemo for this week has been cancelled because of the infection so just hope he can get over it before next week when the chemo can be started again.

Don't know why his platelets are dropping at such an alarming rate I think it's a combination of infection plus antibiotics. It's all very worrying.

Hope Bert is soon well enough for the transplant and you can look forward to the new year with confidence. Good Luck.

    Love Tarnie x
