.... lucky to have been diagnosed with secondary cancer?
We are forever reminded of the uncertainty of life and the fact that life can end unexpectedly at any age. I've had an advanced warning. That advanced warning has prompted me to look at my life and appreciate all of the good things in it, something I may not have had the opportunity to do had I plodded on assuming that I'd live for a long time. So I am lucky!
Lucky to have a wonderful and gorgeous husband. The fact he leaves his socks...
.... always look for the positives!!
It seems I've taught my children well. When my long, thick and curly (some would say unruly) dark brown hair started parting company with my head we took control. Can you imagine the twinkle in the eyes of a pair of primary age children being told they can cut Mum's hair? Typical children they soon got bored but then I did say it was thick and it was hard work! Mr Bad Fairy came to the rescue when it was suitably shorn with his hair clippers and razor. Definitely...
hey everyone,
well yetserday i had my 3rd fec chemo, that is halfway, it feels like a milestone on this long tough road, i was feeling a bit sick when i went yesterday not sure if i had a tummy bug, anyway i had asked for stronger anti sicknes as i had vomitted the first night both times before, what they didnt tell me was i had to take one and then wait an hour before chemo, ah well had to be done, the nurse informed me that the tablets cost 74 quid for 3 tablets! well i thought as cheryl cole...
... without a snorkel or so it felt!
After such a quick diagnosis there was no time to worry or do any scary internet research. Looking back this was probably a good thing. Mr Bad Fairy and I shed a few tears and had no choice but to move on and deal with this new life that had been forced on us. Life goes on doesn't it? Being optimists we were determined to seek out, no matter how deeply they were buried, any tiny little positive moments along with any hint of something which might raise a giggle...
So on Monday…
…the plumber came and fitted new boiler and we’ll be able to light the fire tomorrow night. I had to spend the day in/on bed because it was the warmest place. Started watching the Gavin & Stacey boxed set I’d got for my birthday and mooched about the ‘net. Still can’t concentrate properly to read - find myself reading the same bit over and over again even if I’m enjoying the book.Still can’t concentrate properly to read - find myself...

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share some good news with you. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but since dad was prescribed steroids he has improved slightly. The improvement has meant he has been able to go out in his car a few times. In fact, he and Mum drove to Thursford to see the Christmas concert yesterday, the first proper outing they've had since the summer (and the under their own steam as well). Mum left him in his wheelchair while she went off to the ladies, and a lovely person...
After yesterday I just don't know what to say. Bert was so close to getting his transplant that his Chemo had been ordered, because of his low blood counts they took another bone marrow aspiration, the one 2 weeks ago told us he was in remission but this one told us he had relapsed again. The outcome was that there can be no transplant. To say we were devastated is an understatement.
We have an appointment tomorrow with Haematology to go over what happens next so I will keep you posted
Love...
