    Toxic burps....

..….how to clear a room in an instant!

Have you ever stood in a queue and just wished that everyone in front of you would miraculously disappear? I have, I’m not the most patient of shoppers at the best of times, shopping fights for the prized last place on the to-do list with housework. I now have a secret weapon which clears an aisle/bar/queue in an instant!

The Toxic Burp. It’s a rather rank and putrid burp admittedly but it does a fantastic job so mustn’t be criticised too heavily...

    family gathering

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Dorset. My Ovarian cancer is back on the rampage again, and my one wish was to get my family united together  under one roof so the grandchildren could get to know each other, on "Grandmas holiday".  (One son lives in the states and always has to do the rounds when they come home).  It was everything I could have hoped for, even if I didn't have the energy to join in with all they did, (the hike across to the cliffs and the walk up Corfe castle...

    Round two for Liz

    Hi Everyone

Yesterday we got the news we had been dreading,   yet expecting that my sister Liz G has another tumour .  She is taking it as she takes every aspect of her life,  on the nose and is  dealing with it in her own way.

For those of you who know me and Liz from the old What Now site you will know the love and closeness we share and the past two years since she was given 3-4 months to live ,have been the hardest most emotional I have ever experienced with her and my family.

     While I am writing...

My mum "the engine" of the family

Hiya, this is my first blog and i'm using this as my coping mechanism....my mum is 62 and she is the strongest, most patient and kind woman i have ever met.  We come from a large family, i have 2 elder sisters and 1 elder brother, many nieces and 1 nephew.  My mum and dad divorced when i was 3 and she has brought us up on her own with no help at all and she has done a fantastic job.

My mums pain first started after a fall xmas eve 2009 when the weather was very icy and cold...xmas day she was in...

Re dry skin following Tarceva treatment

    Hi there

my mum has been on tarceva for a month now and has had the dreadfull spots or "rash" as it's known.

The steroid treatment did clear it up but she found the greatest relief from Aveeno products. These have helped to moisturize her skin and skeeping bad breakouts at bay.

With this in mind I decided to  join the Aveeno Discoverer programe and I'm helping to spread the word about Aveeno products. I have recieved free samples and have the posssibility of further rewards, if you...

    March 2010

Well, here we are again......STILL HERE and loving life.

March has been semi quiet with the weather dull and very VERY wet. Had a few good nights out with friends.

Still not finished my web site but made myself a promise to get down to it when I get back from China.

All my veg seedings are up.  Far to many again, so plenty to put around to friends and family.

No chocolate for me this Easter because I had to go on a crash diet.  Yes, I know that crash dieting is bad for me but, what the heck.

  • WLE AND SPILT SKIN GRAFT (CONTAINS PHOTOS OF A GRAPHIC NATURE)
    2 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY

    Good afternoon.

Just back from plastic dressings clinic. 2 and a half hours the appointment took.

    1. the wound was undressed. it was half full of brown fluid exudate crap stuff. The graft has pretty much come away at the top 3rd or more of the wound. It was all cleaned and dried up. More sluff removed and a random stitch removed. (anyone hear me scream?) The wound was then lined with BiataneAG, packed with gauze, then surgipad  and then toe-to-knee  bandaging. This was done with Actico short stretch...

    Do you believe in God?

Just wondering how many of you do?? God?? Heaven?? Angels???
I have always kind of believed....my children have all been christened.....they now all attend a church school and i go to all the services with them ie harvest, easter, xmas etc.
Now the problem i have is if God exists why does he allow bad things to happen to such good people?
Why take my mom from me when i was 2?
Why allow my dad to be poorly now so he can take him too?

Why allow all of the lovely people on here to be ill?
    If it is all real...

  • My Story so far.
    My Story So Far
In October 2009, and after numerous tests etc, I was diagnosed with Cancer, a malignant tumour in my left Submandibular Gland. On 15 November 2009 I had a radical neck surgery to remove the tumour. I also had all the Lymph Nodes removed along with several muscles and nerves from my left neck throat and shoulder area. The Plastic Surgeon reconstructed my neck taking a flap and skin grafts from my right thigh. Surgery lasted 13 hours followed by a 2-day stay in Intensive care. All went ok at first...
