Hevvur made a comment on optical boy's blog about how large his WLE was in consideration to his original mole. My own primary melanoma was tiny in comparison to his, it was 7 millimetre in diameter and only 1.4 millimetre thick, and while my photo isn't so graphic, you can see that the scar's nonetheless quite spectacular!
As for the ensuing groin dissection... well I do have my modesty, so no photo of that!

Hi to all
to all people who know the lovely jackie, to let you know, she was admitted to the Marsden at the beginning of April with a sudden but serious deterioration of her condition. she had periods of discomfort, but is in the best place for the moment. I am sure she could do with some positive vibes coming from all the supporters out there.
as I know more, I will post in the ovarian cancer group.

Hi Sandra and any other UK IBC sufferers.
I was diagnosed 2 +1/2 years ago with IBC. I'm not sure if my story will be of any help or inspiration to others as I rejected all medical treatment and decided to pursue a natural route. Needless to say I had six Doctors and medical proffessionals on my back, exerting immense pressure, to take their route. It was not until I got to the "which part of no don't you understand" that they finally backed off.
I did not make this decision lightly...
After dreading the news, I am glad to say my oncologist was happy with me today - my count has gone from 1032, to 734 to 199 after 2 sessions of the new chemo drug. Considering how bad I was in Feb I can' t really believe my luck, and how well I feel. I will still need the 6 sessions at least, but provided I don';t have any reactions things look positive again. My 2 sons came with me and they were over the moon with what the doctor said. The Dorset weekend was still worth having, even if...

My hubby of almost 21 years was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer on 17th (I think) March, St Patrics day anyhow, total shock as our own GP had said he was not worried about his 'lump' it was probably just a lump of grissle from falling off a bike as a kid, yes those are the exact words he used, and that my hubby was the 'wrong' age to get TC but it need checking just be on the safe side. So off we went to see a consultant at the hospital, took...

I called today to check up on things , today has been a tired day though sitting resting in the garden in the sunshine, Mum seems upbeat on phone which is good because I know she struggles a bit from time to time , thats only to be expected.
Little sis was on phone , nervous about coming back for many reasons but I told her you are coming back to spend time with your daddy nothing and no one else matters. Think it helped her a bit. She's worried about the round of visitors that might be in etc ...

The best news ever!!! All the nodes were negative for cancer.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes.
The surgeon has told me to give it 4 weeks before going back to work or just be sensible about going back earlier. He was the MM was agressive so the surgery had to be too, hence the size of the wound. the graft did not take and will therefore take time to heal. There is overgranulation and still a lot of sluff but the dressing clinic nurse has cleaned a lot of that...
