2 WEEKS 3 DAYS AFTER SURGERY - SNB RESULT (1 NON GRAPHIC AND 2 GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

1 minute read time.

Hi everyone!

The best news ever!!! All the nodes were negative for cancer.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well wishes.

The surgeon has told me to give it 4 weeks before going back to work or just be sensible about going back earlier. He was the MM was agressive so the surgery had to be too, hence the size of the wound.  the graft did not take and will therefore take time to heal. There is overgranulation and still a lot of sluff but the dressing clinic nurse has cleaned a lot of that away to promote healing.

He also gave me a course of antibiotics  as the swelling and lumpiness in the groin was a bit abnormal but he has explained what is normal and what is not and what to do in the future.

The macmillan nurse, Carol, gave me the chat about self examination etc and is something that just has to be part of my routine.

The first photo is of my mum and dad in the waiting area of the dressings clinic. they have stayed with me for the last 3 weeks and have been a great support and comfort. If anyone wants to rent them out I can let you have them at a good rate!! ah ahahh a

thanks and let the happy sunshine make everyone happy!!! (with sunblock 900 of course!)

Fabulous news Peter, its great to read how people are getting on, especially good news. Your mum and dad look lovely and must be so pleased for you.

The wound is healing well. I had radiation burns which looked like that when it got infected. I never believed the skin would ever grow back, but it did. There is a discoloured patch but it healed well. I just have to protect it from the sun.

    Good luck in you future

    love and gentle hugs

    hi sharry

    thanks for your message.

if you want to rent my and dad you can... you would have to put up with 3 cooked meals a day and an abundant supply of TLC... ha ha ha ha

i have had all this done from the time i saw my gp to results day today in pretty much 2 month just over... no time to think... and the macmillan nurse make me slow down a little by saying that all the excitement of the last 2 months and the excitement of today maybe just burst the bubble in a couple of weeks, so prepare for it... keep busy...feel lucky but not cocky......

i have learnt a lot about my condition from the doctors and nurses but a huge amount more from people on the MacM website and facebook... i will continue my blog forever regardless of what happens in the future.

    we need to educate people...!

    have a great weekend
