Hi Sandra and any other UK IBC sufferers.
I was diagnosed 2 +1/2 years ago with IBC. I'm not sure if my story will be of any help or inspiration to others as I rejected all medical treatment and decided to pursue a natural route. Needless to say I had six Doctors and medical proffessionals on my back, exerting immense pressure, to take their route. It was not until I got to the "which part of no don't you understand" that they finally backed off.
I did not make this decision lightly. My husband and I did a lot of research on the "sucess" of Chemotheraphy - very low we concluded. I very strongly urge anyone diagnosed with Cancer to do this research and not just blindly follow the medical advice. Look into the longer term effects of putting your body through this punishing "treatment" and weigh up whether or not it's worthwhile.
I consulted a Homeopath, changed my diet to as close to vegan as possible for me - I find dairy very hard to give up - and no caffeine or soft or fizzy drinks. We also had a reverse osmosis water system fitted for our drinking water. I also followed a lot of Dr. Richard Schultz's de toxing programmes, I had to order these from the USA, but have now found a Herbalist in the Uk who trained under him and makes preparations up for me. Regular colonics are also a part of my programme. The natural healers believe that the organs of elimination must be clear - Bowels, Kidneys, Bladder -before healing can take place. Our typical Western diet is not conducive to this.
For anyone wanting to follow a natural route some books worth reading are :-
Your Life in Your Hands by Professor Jane Plant
The China Study by T. Colin Campbell
There are no Incurable Diseases by Dr. Richard Schultz
Cancer is not a Disease it's a Survival Mechanism by Andreas Moritz
The message I have received overall is NO Dairy, Meat, Fish or Eggs.
I feel extremely well with lots of energy and continue to look after, and ride my horse, and walk my dog etc. I have more energy than most of my friends who have nothing wrong with them. My Doctor always looks amazed at how well I look ( I understand I had 6 month life expectancy give or take) and my Herbalist likewise.
The down side is my left breast is a mess where the tumour and cysts have broken through the skin and there is a lot of fluid loss which is hard to deal with. Finding adequate dressings to cope with this is very difficult and I would love to hear from anyone else experiencing similar problems or who has decided to pursue a natural route.
I decided I wanted to continue my life to the full and have worked at boosting my immune system to the maximum. I did not want to be "sick and sorry" with Chemo. and am happy to live or die by my decision, it's in God's hands.
I will finish by saying I am a Christian with great Faith in God and belong to a very supportive Church. This has been very important to me and again I would urge anyone who has this belief to use it. Prayer has been very beneficial to me.
