Just spoken to my sister on the phone and it's looking like she may have cervical cancer!!! When will the blows end?!!
Meanwhile my mum is doing fine and starts her chemo next week. She will be having 5 FU which I'm told is not such an aggressive treatment. Unfortunately it has been overshadowed by my sisters bad news!!
Hello
A bit of an update. I have been spending a lot of time with my Dad which has been great and am soooo glad my sister and I have this precious time with him. The cancer has now spread to his eye; I spoke to MacMillan today and his nurse is going to call me on Monday as she is off until then. I was wondering if anyone has any experience/kmowledge on secondary eye cancer that has spread from the lungs. We noticed his eye looked funny back in November and we are waiting for him to have palliative...
Here we go again, back on the cycle. Had appointment arrive on Monday to see the consultant after my CT scan, (which was booked as an emergency for Tuesday evening after my 125 result of 785) - the appointment is Jan 10th!! The clinic meets on Monday, and allowing 2 weeks for the official scan results to come through that is the next available Monday..........
The oncology team meeting is Friday morning, so I have just had a phone call to say I am now booked in to see the consultant Monday morning...
Went for MRI Monday morning. Was struggling to get there as shoulder and neck were killing me and even the oramorph wasn’t helping. Anyway got a pretty thorough scan of my spine.
Went to Clinic yesterday (Wed) and was struggling again and had to ask for somewhere to lie down as that is the only way to get rid of the pain.
Saw my oncologist who said that there are 2 trapped nerves (between vertebrae) at the top of my spine and that they were planning radiotherapy and also thinking about it for...
Hi guys,
Mum has put up a good fight for over three years now, we've battled on and kept her strong as a family but yesterday recieved a devastating blow that I'm not sure how to deal with. At 21 I'm trying to come to terms that I may not have my mum around for much longer...her chemo hasn't worked again and the cancer has spread. There are limited options left now. I have no idea how to feel or what to do. The thought that this could be my last Christmas with her terrifies me. I'm struggling to...
Well Brandon seems to be doing good he is doing everything the doctors told him he couldnt . He loves his new school and he is doing judo again and at school he is doing rugby and football. He is over doing it but im not stopping him he needs to know his own limits. Some days are good and some are still bad he still gets tired and that frustrates him but i tell him what he knows and he is fine x

Had a good I think. Mainly just phone calls from hospitals, but good to keep the ball rolling.

The surgeon who removed my swollen lymph node called me today. That was nice. She was very reassuring and told me not to read the doom and gloom on the medical sites regarding stages and stats.

I've just started my 2nd line chemo - taxol on a weekly basis. I have to say it is a might relief after a month of feeling in limbo waiting for scans, then needing to have an op to fit stents in both kidneys and to recover from that.
I feel more positive now as I am back on the treatment treadmill and with now having weekly chemo I feel that I am really fighting this cancer and can take it on.
I really hope that my next scan (end of Jan) will show that this new chemo is working. But I've decided...
as some of you know i have a blockage in my small bowel which has been causing me problems, namely being hospitalised 3 times in 2 weeks!! well i had an appt. through to see the colectoral surgeon for 17th dec to discuss the next step and duly noted this on the calender. next day the phone rang and a man asked to speak to susan....took me a while to catch on that was me cos no-one ever calls me susan. the voice turned out to be that of the surgeon who had looked after me so nicely when i was in...
