    Lost my mom to cancer

Hi, I am 29 years old and lost my mom to stomach cancer end of January 2011, so about 6 monhts ago.

She was diagnosed at stage 4 in April of 2010 when the cancer spread to the uterus.. She coped very well with the chemo and early scans were showing the cancer shrinking, however by the end of the chemo , the cancer multiplied and within a few days time it spread enormously. Doctors could only say, her life is likely to be shortened, but they did not really explain how quick this can happen, She...

    My experience and staying STRONG!

Was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma last tuesday and have found out its spread to my spleen and liver.

As a 27 year old mother of two young children the effect this has had is overwhelming. My family are devastated and of course so am i. My head is all over the place and i'm trying so hard to stay strong. I have a meeting with MDT on wednesday (made to wait a week?!) and will know my plan of action then hopefully.

I'm trying so hard to stay postive and desperately want the doctor to say i...

    Life after loss day 27

Well thank you to everyone who commented on day 26 post your kind words and comments helped.

Spent today nervously filling in time with jobs ~ shopping, sorting food, dragging my daughter uniform shopping in the evening when I know it is not as busy dreading that time of night when I get to sit and watch the seconds pass by seemingly taking hours.

And now it is the early hours of Wednesday morning when I relive the events of 27 days ago the same images rolling round again and again every Wednesday...

    Defrosting in the microwave..

Arrived scrubbed up  and polished and in good time for my MRI this evening.

On replying in the negative to the questions about having any recent deposits of metal in my body or to ever having any metal objects enter my eyes, I was relieved of the Pink Floyd CD that I had bought to be played through the supplied earphones and introduced to the cylindical capsule of the MRI scanner that took up half of the scanning room.

I was instructed to lie on the scanners 'bed' which extended like a tongue from...

    Kidney cancer

HI, Im new to this. i am 34 years old and have just recently had my world turned upside down, inside out and begining to think i'm on a never ending roller coaster. I am married and have 4 children (12, 10, 3 and 8 months).  Ten months ago while I was pregnent my husband had blood in his urine and a lingering cough. I sent him to the doctors and after lots of tests it was discovered he had advanced kidney cancer, that had also spread to his lungs. At the same time we discovered I had placenta...

  • My Lovely Wife Julie
    4 weeks 5 days

It don't seem any easier yet.  That tense tonight I had a glass of wine to try and relax.  I won't make a habit of drinking, its just there was a glass left from the weekend before last, when some friends were round.

    I talk to Julies photo.

    I miss her.

I feel lonely in the company of friends.

My life does not have any purpose.

    melanoma

My name is Penny and my husband was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in April, he has had most of his left shoulder removed and an axillary clearance in his armpit done, he has now been told that the melanoma is in the lymph nodes in his neck and has to have a neck dissection done next week, this has really rocked us as a family, every thing is happening so fast. My job involves dealing with tissue samples in a histology lab so every operation that my husband has had comes to where i work, and it...
