Just come back from an amazing weekend in Scarborough before Nige goes in for his transplant !!!! No Cancer, no Hospitals Just Max and Nige a little bit of 'normality' woo hoo :) xxxxxx
Along with about 2,000 other gals me and my wonderful daughters and friends did the race today. It was the most moving thing ever, just to see so many people there who have either lost someone to this god awful disease or have someone going through it, or are racing because they have cancer!
We had a wonderful day, we dressed as pink pussy cats including tails!, My daughters were the honey bunnys................... I felt very emotional and walked the 5k with a big lump in my throat, especailly...
I’ve cried a hundred thousand tears
My wish, to go back through the years
I miss you, I'm lost
I hate this truth
I am changed, it’s different
my life without you
I know I must try to move on from the pain
to stop re-living what’s happened again and again
You deserve more than that for the part that you played
The funny, lovely, caring Dad
That so many memories made
There will come a time, although it may be a while
When i can talk about you
Share stories, remember and smile
It’s just that...
Good sleep till woken for obs then dozed till about 5, went & had bath & shave etc then stretched out on bed & guess what! Yep fell asleep again. Managed a couple of slices of toast for breakfast, vegetable balti for lunch and mediteranean pasta for lunch, couple of little threats of the dreaded heartburn but nothing materialised, Still avoiding the hot drinks for the time being.
Now on 3rd infusion so only one left to go, should be starting in the early hours tomorrow so can hopefully...
I can't believe its nearly a month since my last post.
The last few weeks have been very up and down. julie had another dose of Radio to the Spine yesterday to try and relieve new pains. She is now on a lot more Diamorphine to supress the pain she has.
We have had Two failed attempts to get off the Syringe Driver. Both occasions resulted in Julie having severe withdrawl symptoms. It appears that she is not absorbing oral medication so will have to stay on a Driver for the foreseable future...
I've just completed my first full week of work after my dad's diagnosis and feeling really shattered. I'm so lost as to what I should be feeling right now. I want to be with my dad all of the time but know that this just isn't possible as I need to keep a cetain degree of "normality" in my life.
I can't believe how quickly things can change. This time last year we were celebrating my dad getting the all clear after he had his bladder removed. He was so amazing after...
Had a pretty good night, about 4 hours till woken for obs than managed another hour or so till drip changeover. Got up did the shaving, teeth & loo then a nice hot bath for pleasure rather than necessity this time. Loved it. Went & stretched out on the bed & fell asleep again. Unbelievable!
Woke up with severe heartburn, first time I've woken with it, told this probably down to the high dose of steroids I've been put on. Had to avoid breakfast & hot drinks till the medication did it...
My mum told me tonight, she has breat cancer stage 1, so all is good. I'm just so happy she decided to tell me now. I was so upset she hasn't told me but now she has I feel no anger just love. :)
This is my first blog so I am at a bit of a loss. The Mac site is my second skin at the moment, specially while I'm feeling a little delicate..Hubbie has AML in relapse but I hope we can have a little holiday soon. He took some persuading. His consultant has said other hospitals will be able to help him if becomes unwell while we are away.(That what comes of spending so much time at the hospital that looks after him). I think he is coming around. I have had so much inspiration from reading some...
Well my life seems to have been thrown into turmoil in the last 3 months, Mum was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in March, she had chemo, 4 doses, lost ALL her hair, and with it ALL her confidence.
Her chemo has now finished, unfortunately the prognosis is the same .....approx 6-8 weeks !!! how do I cope with that? My daughter (51/2 months pregnant) is in bits at the thought that her beautiful grandmother may never get to see her great granddaughter.
On top of all this, I went to the gp...
