Its 3.30 in the morning,Mo had the 'wanderlust' she got up & wandered into the lounge and sat down on the sofa for 5-10 mins her hhead was playing up.Then wandered back into the bedroom & got back in bed, great! Ten minutes later got back up again and did the same, only this time on the way back went to the toilet & then back into the front room eventually she got back into bed at 4am.It was like a game of musical chairs, only without the music!
A nice start to the day with a nice long bath, of course tucking the tubes up out of the way so they don't get wet, followed by only having to shout 4 times to get my 13 yr old out of the house so we could get to my mums for lunch, time being the essence today as they were off to Devon at about 4.
"you look pale and fraught" said my mum, more than once. I wasn't feeling fraught. But it got me thinking.
And I think all the help is getting to me! How odd does that sound? And...
Hi :)
I've never blogged before - for any reason, so bear with me!
I joined this community because my amazing mum passed away on the 15th of August this year following a year long fight with cancer. She was initially diagnosed with bowel cancer, but it spread to her liver and became untreatable due to its position on her hepatic vein.
She never once let the cancer rule her life - she went through nearly 6 months of chemo before the doctors said there was no more they could do, and then lived...
I carried on as normal today. I went out with friends and did what I had to do.
I don't have a diagnosis. I don't know what is wrong. All I have been told is my symptoms could possibly indicate cancer. Do they realise just what they are saying when they use that word? They could also be a number of other conditions that are less 'serious' but my mind does not dare hope for fear of having them dashed.
I want to run away. I want to hide but know that I can't. I have another week to...
HI
its been a while since I last blogged, but its been one hell of at few months.
My wonderful mom passed away on the 30th July 2011, she was such a wonderfull brave women, I still can't believe it.
She had been unwell since may really but in the end she went so quickly. But she had made it perfectly clear to us all that she had enough, she was so sick of the pain and I think the thought of her not been able to come home because of how poorly she became was the last straw for her which makes...
I must have been searching for ages , all i wanted to do was add an update to my blog.....how long can it take...... how emotional am i feeling right now.....must have something to do with it. sometimes the easiest things are the hardest especially when your eyes are filled with something that resembles tears but yet there is nothing to cry about ( no i am not pre menstrual, had that last week ) i think this is all to do with this bloody disease. I will try to explain what has happened this week...
Hi there you lot. The first bit might sound like a moan but its really not and I am still grinning like a loony, just a bit of a mixed up loony... (what's new you say... yeah I know) but my head is spinning a bit (understatement of the year there... surprised I am not suffering from G force or warp 9 or whatever)
Well, I feel like I have been hit across the face with a cricket bat. In a good way, but am now reeling. I guess I have been locked up in a cupboard for ages and ages and it feels like...
7 months on since my lovely mum died suddenly and unexpectedly (for the family anyway). I still feel so angry with the NHS services. My mum died on a ward within the same hospital trust that I work for. I know how things work. I feel like she was stolen from me. I feel like they didnt work hard enough for her. I feel like they got it wrong....I dont think they knew how aggressive her cancer was.....either that or they were too chicken to say it. Im not sure what to do. Shall I pursue or shall I not...
Unfortunately Mo wasn't the only person to have a bad day today,I did. Needed some shopping today so I went to my local supermarket, Morrisons to get what I wanted, wont bother you with the details, just 'bits'. This was the first time since Mo's diagnosis I had been to the supermarket, I have been using my local shop only 5 minutes up the road,by car, how lazy lol. I got to Morrisons but as soon as I had walked through the entrance the feeling of depression and sadness descended like...
Hi! I can't believe how much time has passed since i last posted here. Well dunno where to start but I'll summarise for now.
I finished chemo (6 cycles) July 22. I was told (twice) by my MDT that radio wouldn't be necessary. Hmmmm, that didn't sound right to me. After everything I had read about RMS (rhabdomyosarcoma) chemo was almost definately followed up by RT. I have taken everything the docs have said with a pinch of salt and i did on this occasion too. I was right, and they offered...
