My brother and his family beat me to getting a cake, by sending my mum a large tin of muffins, brownies and cookies, which were brilliant.
What a difference a couple of weeks make. My mum was diagnosed with Myeloma, she has since been getting treatment of Chemo and Radiothearpy. She was looking a million times better than when I last saw her. She said the pain was ever decreasing and her movement had become much, much easier.
The Myeloma/cancer is in her back, ribs, left arm, shoulder and ...

Hi Everyone,
I hate coming on here and moaning but the last few weeks have been a bit rubbish. A couple of weeks ago I ended up with loads of fluid gathering in the space around my gut. I ended up looking about 7 or 8 months pregnant I was so inflated with the stuff and there was no shifting it. It was so uncomfortable, even finding a comfy sitting position was difficult.
Anyway they finally 'drained' me last wednesday and got 4.5 litres of fluid out of me! and that wasn't even all of it! Because...
Hello everyone, my elderly (87) Mom has bowel cancer, she has had a colostomy(about 3 months ago) but she is too frail to undergo an operation to remove / reduce the tumour so the outlook isn't good. The consultant says that the only further potential treatment would be radiation but she doesn't want to go back into hospital and frankly we (sister and I) think that the side efects would probably outweigh the short term benefits. She is supposed to have a monthly visit from the district nurse, she had...
Hi everyone
I finished my chemo on Hogmany and started on maintenance therapy in March. I have noticed a deterioration in my eyesight, blurred vision when reading. My friend in Canada who is also going through chemo told me his Oncologist mentioned this was a possible side effect. Anyone any ideas or experiencing the same?
Ian
Thank you for all for your comments and support. I am now on week two and think I am slowly getting better. Spoke with somebody who was starting yesterday and she said she felt exactly as I did with her planning session, even before radiotherapy and I hadn't even mentioned how I felt, so made me feel better knowing not just me. One more request from anyone who has finished. Any advice as to whether to put aqueous cream on every day before any problems or wait and see how bad it gets.
All went well with hubby's first chemo yesterday - the only hiccup being that there was no parking spot outside the unit so I had to drop him off, then drive round the hospital to find a place and leg it back. Lo and behold as I arrived at the unit doors I espied a parking space!
Once treatment started hubby realised he had made a mistake with the reading material - a newspaper, too big to handle. Instead he dozed through the bits in between the nurse fiddling. Well doing her job really but...
Hi guys, havn't been on here for a while so thought i'd stop being lazy and update. We had the most fantastic holiday in Italy and it was so what we all needed. I felt completly recovered from the surgeries, relaxed and got a lovely healthy looking tan. Most importantly we had so much fun together as a family. If anybody wants an Italian reccomendation let me know. The only problem was that we had to come home.....Boooo!
6 days later was the 1st chemo, i was nervous but yes not nearly as...
