    Tears & Rain

Well there you have it, last night was the first night that I truly cried. Maybe bottling it all up finally came to a head.

I think I knew it was coming when I re-read my latest posts.

So what happened last night to make this sudden summer shower appear from nowhere?

I don’t know , my sister came, she had picked mum up from the chemo. She had a load more appointments for me to write down, and then said that they had told her that they were only going to do 4 cycles of chemo, I asked ‘then what?’ She...

    Remission/Cure

When does the 5 years begin when a person is then considered in Remission/Cured.

Is it from the moment the cancer is removed from the body?

Is it from the end of treatment.

What if the treatment is adjuvant ( back up after surgery)

    Do's anybody know?

    Love Julie X

BCG treatment stopped last december because of severe reaction. Had reaction this time to anaesthetic, kept in for four days with severe dizzziness and sickness, then had another reaction to mytomicin. So glad to be home. Just hoping it hasnt spread any further. Got to the point where I think maybe I have a better chance without a bladder. Just...

    It hasn't worked

We were told the bad news that the chemo hadn't worked again, although we are getting a second opinion hopefully, to be honest I am not hopeful.  The prof is a good doctor, he has tried everything.

My partner is now a wheelchair user.  He is going to come home for as long as possible, if he gets an infection that will be the end.  If we are lucky he has weeks.

Don't think I'll be blogging for a while, gonna be busy for a while (long while I hope).

Love and good luck to anyone reading...

    Julia (Jools) Irving

It's a long while since I have been online, so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong arena.  This is something I need to make everyone aware of.

Julia (Jools) Irving passed away peacefully earlier today with her daughters, Jenny and Jade and close family around her.

Many of you whose lives have been touched by Jools, as indeed mine has, will share a great sadness from this news, but also thankfullness that her pain has gone, she was dignified to the end.

It is difficult for me at this...

Reluctant - Surgery - biopsy taken.

Hi everyone,  I am back home and happy again, although I felt like I was in a Hotel at QA on D7 ward.  I had my own room and an en suite bathroom.  I had my tele paid, so while I waited for the afternoon surgery I had something to try and concentrate on.  I had a book to try and read but I couldn't see the words!  I had my glasses on, so no excuse.  I was supposed to go to Theatre at 1.30pm.  It was to be almost 2 hours later when the Surgeon Mr Walmsley was found!  He had finished surgery on E level...
