My Dad is very poorly with widespread cancer
I was told today that I can no longer visit my dad in the
hospice due to Coronavirus. My dad hasn’t got Coronavirus
But a new rule starting today from the hospice is that
only one family member can now visit
so that’s going to be my mum
Im feeling heart broken that I may not see him again
I do understand why but it still isn’t easy
im feeling really sad
That must be so difficult Rachel..
is it possible a member of staff could set up facetime when your mom visits and both of you could be "visiting" together? Or could you give them your mobile/tablet for them to video him each time so you have the latest pictures?
It might also be comforting for him if he's unable to communicate himself, to hear your voice so again think about recording a message for him and vice versa if possible.
Try to think of a way to use tech to your advantage, especially photos and videos. Not the same as being there in person I know, but it can be the closest thing and a precious memento.
Ask the staff what other families have come up with.
Sending you a blast of virtual hugs xx
