Sorry to hear about your mum, what sort of cancer does she have and is she having any treatment?

When my wife was diagnosed she never wanted to know how long and I really struggled with that at the time. We had some struggles with treatment but rather to the surprise of her consultant they have managed to render her cancer stable and we have been now living with cancer for some time.

Do post on here whenever as someone is always listening and it can be amazing how sharing can help us all. That feeling of lonliness is very common

She has secondary metastatic breast cancer it is in her bones but she has been in hospital with high calcium and her kidney hasn't been doing well when she was diagnosed she had radiation and then oral targeted therapy and then she was moved on to IV chemo but due to the complications with the calcium and kidney function the consultant isn't giving her chemo when we asked about it today she said it maybe but a couple months at most I just didn't expect that it's such a horrible disease I'm so angry at the world

Totally get why you feel so alone, that is a very common emotion when someone we love is so ill and it can be so difficult in what does "a few months" actually mean.

If you might find something face to face more helpful then we have a tool in your area that given a postcode will find support services near you; sometimes it can be worth trying the hospital postcode too.
