New here.
What additional support is available for families?
Any advice would be so appreciated.
Every day is such a worry and I am full of anxiety about what is to come.
Hi JoamneLaura
Welcome to the friends and family forum, I hope you find some of the additional support here though remember if you want to talk to someone the helpline is avaiable 8am to 8pm 7 days a week - 0800 808 0000
As well as the needs assessment that your father is entitled to there is also a carers assessment that would help identify things to support whoever is looking after him.
Whoever is carer might also be eligable for carers allowance.
Hopefully anyoen who is working will be well supported by their employers - as anyone might expect to support a colleague if they were in the same situation. If there are problems it may be worth speaking to one of the work support team here.
If your dad is in conact with a hospice they are often quite good at giving support to family too. If there is a Maggies anywhere near they are well worth a visit. We do have a tool here in your area that can help highlight support near you given a postcode.
<<hugs>>
Steve
