Hi, my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer on Tuesday last week. They did a biopsy on the tumour,  but we havent heard back yet and dont know much more. We were told we would get a call today, but we haven't,  it's been a week already.  This waiting is starting to get a bit much. I live with my mom and dad with my partner and 3 year old son, and currently 19 weeks pregnant.  The news has hit us hard. I dont know how my dad is going to cope if anything happens.  We dont even know ifs its spread or not or if they will be able to treat her. Her doctor fobbed her off when she said she was feeling unwell. About 6 months ago she had a lump in her breast and armpit which went away, but her lymph nodes remained enlarged, they only did a scan . These were obviously warning signs that something was wrong. My mom said she will fight this and take whatever treatment they suggest

  • Hi gabypt, has your mum heard back yet? If not it may be worth contacting the hospital to see what is happening. Sometimes it can be good news in that a delayed diagnosis is down to the cancer being less active. My wifes cancer is quite different and our route to even a diagnosis was very long so much that the final diagnosis was in some ways something of a relief to know what the problem was. The chemotherapy Janice has had made her cancer stable and we have now been living with cancer for six years.
