Hi

I’ve been on here before 3 years ago when I was worried for my Aunty . She’s passed away now .

Now we are losing her husband to cancer which has spread to his brain . We are bringing him out of hospital so we can hopefully care for him at home . They say he has months not years , and he’s had one seizure but is ok apart from being very confused sometimes

just wondered has anyone had any experience of caring with someone with brain cancer spread from other areas and what we might expect

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that your aunty has passed away and that you're now back here because your uncle has secondary brain cancer.

I don't have the experience that you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't yet had any replies.

It might be a good idea to join and post your questions in a couple of other groups. The first is the secondary brain cancer group, where you can ask questions and share experiences with others who have this type of cancer, and the second is the supporting someone with incurable cancer group, where you can ask questions about practical matters and palliative care.

To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your uncle's journey into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
