Hey, my partner had a car crash in August 2018, where they discovered stage three ovarian cancer, which was a blow, anyway big op and 6 mts chemo later and we're at the three months check ups, due to her feeling a bit poorly and a very slightly raised tumour count she had a scan, the results are on Thursday and I'm just so scared and worried, I'm trying to be strong and positive but I'm terrified, she's being really brave and I feel I'm letting the side down, but my work are not understanding and that is also a stress as I'm the only one bringing a wage in . We have been together for 21 years ( both female) I suppose I've come on here to rant a bit as I don't want to upset her, hopefully come Thursday it'll all be fine and I'm worrying over nothing until the next three months ! Thanks for listening x
So sorry to hear that you are both going through such a difficult time. It's perfectly understandable that you are worried to bits. Who wouldn't be if their soul mate was going through the same situation. I'm sorry to hear you don't have the support at work too.
I don't really have any great words of wisdom as what you are both going through is stressful and difficult to deal with. But I'd like to offer some virtual support. I was diagnosed grade 3 Ovarian cancer June 18 and had the ops and chemo. Unfortunately mine recurred again last Oct. Even with that really annoying and devastating news it isn't the end of the line. I'm having targeted therapy to stop any tumours growing plus the chemo which blasts the worst of it out the system.
I've found some really inspiring women who have been living with ova cancer for years and years. Check out the stories on https://www.targetovariancancer.org.uk/ they make you realise that a recurrence doesn't mean the worse case scenario. So I suppose is what I am saying is try not to let worry take over your life, be there for your partner, scream as loud as you want but keep it together for the both of you. There's so much support on here, you are not alone.
x
Thank you sooooo much for taking the time to reply, your words have helped me alot and inspired me to get my positive practical head on, it's such a emotional rollercoaster and it means alot to know there is support on here as sometimes I do feel quite alone not wanting to bother my partner and family with my worries, thank you x
