Palliative chemo is this true?

My husband has passed suddenly after two treatments of palliative chemo. I didn't want him to have it. He had a history of stroke and PTSD and drank alcohol in biggish quantities at times! I felt it was not safe for him!

I was shot down!

A friend who worked in oncology made a comment which has partly been a comfort that palliative chemo either causes a sudden death or it gives years! I am sure this chemo made him worse already and sure it has caused his death although PM us inconclusive and now an inquest. I know in my heart of hearts that they won't admit this and the dangers were brushed over but has anyone any stats or facts on this. It would help me to know my gut instinct was right.

I'm in Scotland and my Grandad passed 2 years ago but he was in palliative care twice. The first time he recieved the chemo and a few weeks later he was home. A few month later he went back into the care and sadly passed away but it did make him better for a while x
