Hi all, my wife (35yrs) had her second brain surgery last month and her histopathology report indicates a Grade III tumour and the doctors have now booked radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy for her.
There are lot of information online about what the patient can expect to happen etc and frankly, there is so much information you don't know what is the correct one that is applicable for my wife. The doctor we saw yesterday was very nice and answered all our technical questions but I don't know what kind of a journey we are about to have and wondered if someone can share if they have been diagnosed with an Anaplastic oligodendroglioma. What treatments they had, how they felt, any tips on how we can prepare better, the emotions you went through so my wife and I can start to accept and internalise first whats going on and then get ready for radiotherapy in about another 4 weeks time. Thank you
Hi and welcome to the community though we are always a little sorry to meet a new member. Your wife's cancer is very different to the Leiomyosarcoma my wife has but if you search in the Brain cancer forum you will find both partners and patients at all stages from diagnois to treatment and afterwards. Of course no two cancers and totally identical and neither are two patients so people can only give you some ideas.
Remember to look after yourself too, cancer has a nasty habit of getting to everyone.
<<hugs>>
Steve
