My mum diagnosed in Feb with stomach cancer she had big operation . They couldn't remove so had to bypass so she could eat properly she seems fine in herself up to seeing Dr at hospital regarding chemo they start on Saturday 18 weeks of chemo but have said she would only have up to 12 mth if treatment works I can't get it out of my head I'm her carer and see her everyday ( and have for the last 48 years apart from holidays ) we are very close family my emotions are all over the place I can't think what her emotions are like . I know everyone is different but how can I cope x sorry for going on
Hi and welcome to the community though sorry to hear about your mum.
Prognosis is at best a guess, many people on here outlive them and treatments are improving every day. The only real solution though is to live day to day and especially appreciate every good day. It is my wife who has the cancer and in many ways my emotions were much worse than hers - I ended up doing a living with less stress course that really helped me.
Coping can be hard but we will be here to help and you will find the strength.
