I was on holiday in Bulgaria and got constipated. That's how it all started. After 5 days of being unable to go to the loo I went to see a doctor who took blood tests said I had peritonitis and that she thought it was from my appendix and was taken to hospital for an emergency op. When I got there they scanned me and said they thought it was a problem with my overies and kept me in. I had taken a laxative that morning which worked during the first evening in hospital. They gave me high dose antibiotic...
Talk about a shock....Was diagnosed with Womb Cancer the day before Christmas Eve. SInce then I have been in the Waiting Game. Waiting for the full news, surgery and any additional treatment that I am supposed to receive.
I must say that this has been the worst wait in my life. You get to the point where you just want it to get started so you can get on with it. Also you want this "invader" out of your body.
I want to publicly thank all of the people who have been there to support me...
A while back I blogged about doing 30 things over the course of this year to celebrate turning 30. As my birthday was Christmas day it was difficult to plan a party etc so I felt this would be a much better idea. So today I went and got a tattoo which was one of the things on my list. Its not my first tattoo but my fourth and it is of my childrens names so it is very special. Only thing is now I want another one!!!
My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1995. At the time I was 16 and was caring for her and my young brother who was 3 - She was having treatment but passed away in July 1997 - Even though i was her carer my mum kept a lot hidden from me and have never really found peace since she passed away - I was totally unprepared for her passing away -
I think I found this chrsitmas especially hard and I am not full understanding why - I just miss her.
Recently I seem to be drawn to people...
I went for my 3 month check today and saw my Oncologist not the Registrar. My CA 125 has now started to go up again. He said it was 150 l was puzzeled because he said it had not risen by much. I said l thought it was 40 he said no its never been down to that. I would have swarn the Dr told me 40 may be 140? I dont know but lm not nearly normal after all. Are well never mind. No action as yet.

When I was 2 1/2, I was diagnosed with a kidney cancer - Wilms Tumor. The doctors immediately removed my kidney which was timely, another day and the tumor would have exploded and there wouldnt have been a chance.
I had 18 months of intese chemotherapy and while I cant remember how I felt at the time, I still think about the experience every day. I feel a deep sadness about it, if I smell a hospital (or hospital toast!) I will immediately gag, and all of my first memories are from in the hospital...
My Father has been diagnosed with tumours in both lungs and the Dr has stated it is " none curative " please excuse any spelling .
He has sqamous cell carcinoma and it is at an early stage.
His present illness was discovered as he finished treatment for skin cancer two years ago. This was discovered through a routine X ray and then the CT scan and Biopsy.
We are meeting with the Oncologist and have been informed the option is Aggressive Chemotherapy to keep " it " at bay....
