  • My Amazing Dad
    Finding it so hard...

Well yesterday was certainly one of those days....I held it in all day then Marc (my fiance) met me from work and I just cried my heart out. Marc is amazing...he held me, cuddled me, wiped my tears and reassured me. I managed to calm down after saying how i didn't feel like i was doing enough & I was worried about not giving my dad the right sorts of food to eat...and Marc said he would come food shopping with mum and I on Saturday & he would help cook some stuff for my dad...so that...

    Chemo number 4

I quite enjoyed today... if such a thing is possible. I took myself off to my chemotherapy, with a bottle of water and a book I wanted to finish (One Man and his Bike by Mike Carter if you're interested..it made me laugh out loud and spit sandwich on my knee). I got a corner chair, took my boots off and settled down cross legged. The cancer specialist nurse came to tell me the PET scan looked pretty good, still some activity but given the size of the original tumour thats to be expected...

  • Chronic Lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)
    The Macmillan on-line CLL community,

I was Diagnosed with CLL at 47 while investigating the cause of other more pressing issues and remain untreated today, I believe this may be the case for a while.  Learning and spending time with others with CLL here and at group meetings has encouraged my passion to share information and support with people experiencing the specific challenges diagnosis and living with CLL brings.

  • I want answers

Why can't I seem to get answers. My lovely husband was struck down with osephagal cancer in september. He had 3 cycles of EOX chemo. By november he seemed to be getting back to his old self. Then over xmas he started to get ill again. Had CT scan the little blighter had targeted his liver, where it was a little bit it was getting worse. his tummy swelled up like his was 9 months pregnant (now that would be an immaculate conception). He had ascites (fluid in the tummy) they put in a drain and drained...

  • Cancer has returned
    Angry husband

2011 valentines night my husband collapsed and was rushed to hospital, after tests he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. after his operation he seemed to recover well and his spiits seemed high.

Today it appears that the cancer has returned, i say appears as he hides all letters from the hospital and doctor, will not let me know when appointments are. He reasoning is that i let him down last time and did not support him, so he intends to hide it all this time.

I did support him as best i could,...

    Feeling negative...must stay strong

Well today is going to be one of THOSE days I think. Woke up this morning and like every morning my poor dad was the first thing on my mind. We saw him last night & hearing him coughing so much & seeing him fall asleep so easily on the sofa & catching him lost in his thoughts...is so so so hard. It scares me how these symptoms seem to be coming out more now...he said he has been itching in the night which worries me as I worry he is going to develop jaundice. His skin doesn't look yellow...

    Image correction

It seems I have made some minor errors with the pictures last time! As cute as Wall-E is, I suspect he is not a surgeon.

As an aside, I can't believe some people don't know who Wall-E is! I'm sad for you!

Right, enough silly Disney pictures. :)

Here is the actual machine. It's called a Da Vinci. I'm not 100% sure they will use this, but the surgeon did mention it. To be honest, I think it looks ****ing terrifying!

Sort of spidery. And we all know how much I love spiders...

    Rollercoaster of emotions...

    Hi all,

So blogging really helped me yesterday when I was at such a low point...and receiving such heart warming, lovely comments offering advice and sharing experiences really did help me & I hope it helped others too.

So after my breakdown yesterday morning where I could not stop crying...I wrote my blog post...got it all out...then pulled myself together. I booked in an appointment to register our notice of marriage on february 13th. We will look to get married in March I think...

Gosh..so this it what normal feels like!

I’m in my ‘good week’ of my three week chemo cycle…well… usually its about a week but this cycle its been foreshortened by the stinky cold that lingered and lingered.

Yesterday I felt quite chipper and was booked in for a PETCT scan down in Cambridge. The mobile unit that in the leaflet looked to be parked in a green and pleasant land turns out to be in a car park at Addenbrookes hospital. They inject you with radioactive glucose (even the syringe is lead...
