Blogging can be a great way to journal your experiences and share with others. Why not create your own cancer journey blog, or have a read of other blogs created by our members?

i decided to ask my local GP if i could see a therapist , after three years of continual cancer and alot of carrot situations where i have been told by a consultant that this step, whether it be chemo, surgery or radiotherapy, yes ive had them all, will finally knock my pesky cancer on tne head, i thought it was about time, as i have really had enough, and its unfair to let my anger show to my wife as she also been though the mill,
I explained, my reasons to my gp as i needed to express and work...
We see adverts all the time about prostate and breast cancer awareness but not so much about bowel cancer awareness even though it is one of the biggest killers. I think people are shy about going to their GP to talk about their toilet habits when really it is no different to talking about any other bodily function. There really is nothing to be worried about having a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy, both are done painlessly and certainly at my local hospital keeping your dignity. The worse part I find...
Things have been quite insular in ginger land lately, not least because Hairy had a mini rage at Virgin when their engineer didn't turn up and managed to cancel all our services. It was odd being without internet, TV or phone for a while but I quite enjoyed having to keep myself busy and not attached to a device. Err as you can see I am totally sticking to this way of living now they've turned it all back on.
Things on the Hairy front have been strained. He told me recently that our relationship...
So here is a question, at the end of January i rolled into the surgeons consultation room, fully expecting him to discuss my forth coming surgery,
instead he informed me it was to be delayed, until maybe the end of april to maximise the surgery in extractin all of my diseased lung tissue, now he a very clever man, and my oncologist agrees with on the basis that they dont wat to open me up to find six weeks later they missed a bit.they make it sound so simple
but my fear is that the nodule will use...
I had no idea you could create blogs on Macmillan, otherwise I would have started here! But have started my blog on another website, so thought I'd leave the link.
My boyfriend was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer when our daughter was 7 weeks old. This blog reflects our journey so far from my perspective.

i not sure why, maybe because its spring and the sun is shining new growth is appearing and the doom and gloom of winter has been lifted, but i feel in a better state of mind at the moment and will enjoy the sunshine why i can, maybe im still a candidate for surgery and the skills of mr dusmett will rid me of this disease, maybe i have to back my words up of a year ago and wear a skirt and blouse if inget NE
Life has changed quite a bit recently. This may be a temporary situation dependent on whether I will be able to have an ileostomy, or it may be permanent. But I spend much more time in bed than I used to, and I seldom leave the house. This is partly fatigue and partly fear of having ‘an accident’ when I’m out. My dear hubby brings me breakfast in bed – I’ve resisted this for weeks but finally given in, and it’s a real pleasure. Then I get up and have a bath around...
is it me or does anyone else have dark thoughts concerning their treatment and frustration at being ignored by you consultants and treated as if your a pest or nusiance by your clinical nurse if you contact them , i have tne feeling that tne fact that i failed all the treatments they gave me the staff at the marsden would wish i just go way accept their terminal verdict in a months time and leave the. A lone, although they probably be disappointed they can no longer tease me with false hope anym...
i cant get out of this depression, try as i might, i used to be positive, but now i think i be worn done by cancer, it just wont go, after all the treatment it should of gone, but it wont go, i feel trapped in invisable bubble that wont burst and set me free, sometime the walls of this bubble become very thin and transparent that i can all most tadte freedom and be free of this disease, but then i comes back stronger the bubble thickens and my clear view of the world and normal people becomes cloudy...
I met a friend in the street this morning who asked if I was drinking aloe vera gel when I took my medication ‘to counteract the toxins’. No, why should I? Aloe vera tastes disgusting, whereas morphine syrup is really rather delicious. And anyway, I’m not convinced that I need to take something of dubious benefit. I know that it has anti-inflammatory and laxative properties (something I don’t need right now) and aloe vera gel contains a lot of fibre (something else I don’t need...
