It was on my Mums birthday, 29th May 2015 that my diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer was confirmed. As soon as I heard the word 'Unfortunately' I knew that I had cancer. Not only did I have cancer, I had aggressive cancer which had spread to my lymph glands. It was like being punched in the face, not once, not twice but three times. The rest of the day was surreal. The next day I was convinced that they had the wrong notes. We all think that these things happen to other people, not to us. How ridiculous is that? I am 48 years old, too young for cancer - perhaps not.
I had no idea. I had no symptoms. I was called for a mammogram at the age of 48. I am so grateful for that invitation. i am so pleased that I went.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
