My Dad was a hero, he once saved a baby from a fire and a man at work when he got his arm caught in a machine. He tried to refuse chemo when he thought that chemo would mean he couldn't donate his organs to save someone elses life. He was amazing but it is the little things i miss the most......seeing him with my kids, him still holding my hand when we cross the road, him being the only person to still call me victoria, his amazing unwaivering faith in Manchester City, and Colin Bell and his fascination...
We went to the hospital today for the standard review of cycle 5 but also to see the ocologist and radiotheapy planning person to discuss Sal's RT treatment.
This cycle has been OK. More fatigue and nausea but that is to be expected in later cycles. She was given the go-ahead to have cycle 6 - the last cycle!
We talked about her RT treatment. She will have either 3 weeks or 5 weeks of daily treatment (not weekends) depending on whether she might want to consider reconstruction surgery later...
My Mother had surgery back in april to remove a blockage in Her bowel and it was there the surgeons descovered a tumour. After the op My Mother developed pneumonia and was rushed to ICU, there she was placed on a ventilator and at one stage it was touch and go. Thankfully she pulled through but then a week later developed fistulas around her surgery scars which are still active now. My mother is sixty six and the most wonderful example of a human being. The complications of surgery have meant her...

2nd week back and i guess the wound will heal eventually. personally i cant see much difference between 3 weeks ago and now. the dressing is quite wet at the end of the day but nothing like what i was going through in month...
On the 16th of July (regular readers will recall) my surgeon's secretary (I call him "my" - I've never met him, and the way things seem to be working I never will) told me that due to various exigencies, happenings, planetary occlusions, acts of God, thermal gradients, and a lack of tomato sauce, I should assume I would get "seen to" (not in the tom-cat sense) on August 9th. This was just her guess really, I mean I heard her sacrifice the cockerel, but possibly that was just a sound-effect, or...
we were told yesturday that we will have less than a year with lil man if we are lucky.
NOW i know what the doctors say is only a guess but it just brings it real. They told us this news yesturday. Because they have had 4 child roughly the same age as lil man with the same type of tumor pass away within a year of the doctors finding the tumors.
