    T1NOMO

Found out I had a T1NOMO on left lateral border of my tongue last November, lost about a qtr of my tongue following laser surgery and 5 months on can speak (with a lisp) and swallow ok now. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has had this. I'm now being monitored for any signs of metstastic spread. Concerned about nausia bouts that started a couple of weeks ago and fatigue. Its so frustrating having so much to do and having to fight for the energy to complete the simplest of tasks. Strange...

    radiotherapy measurements

Well that wasn't what I expected! Radiotherapy simulator measurements and tattoos! hhhmmmm, takes much longer than you think - 40 minutes lying uncomfortably while no one speaks to you but keeps looking at your boob and calling measurements to one of the other 4 people in the room!!!!! Oh well its done now!

    Thanks

Hi just to say a big thank you to all those who contact me on this site or Facebook. So today I go for radiotheray measurements and receive my tattoos! treatment starts May2nd, bank holiday!

I must say that some of the links to this site from emails are a little tricky and so if I haven't got back to you blame it on technology!

    take care all,

    falling down

I was supposed to get my new obturator today but it wasnt made right so after an hour of trying i have to wait till next week!

I was feeling really good and quite positive and in my head had the idea of only radiotherapy at a local hospital, today i find i need chemo and rt and in London which means 4 hours in the car or a B&B.

I had a howling session in the car on the way home then decided i wasnt going to be a sad sack and was going to get on with the next two weeks until chemo starts.

  • it's a gay old life
    blogging to survive

Writing as therapy is an established coping mechanism but I would be interested to hear a health professional's view of this growing modern day phenonema and its health benefits.  I believe blogging is basket weaving for the twenty first century.
There are an incredible variety of blogs out there.  Some are deeply emotional, some educational, others full of humour.  They are real life soap operas.
I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have found blogging incredibly valuable in many ways...

The sound of the chemo running through my head is deafening. I feel as if I am a passenger on an early space shuttle, we are taking off and I have been strapped to a reclining seat. I am issued with a light blue hospital blanket, a nylon sleep mask and for protection, a pair of two dollar noise reduction headphones. Hopeless and helpless.

Now in flight, my chair is wheeled into a sealed room, the walls of which are lined from floor to ceiling...

    My Lovely Wife Julie 13

The past couple of weeks have been very stressfull.  Julie developed new pains on the opposite side of her back, had more radio a couple of days ago, but the increase in pain levels has meant she's been admitted to LOROS Hospice to try and get a better pain management plan in place.

An initial examination suggests that the Ribs could now be affected with Mets but we won't know for certain until she gets scanned.

We are both getting very tired...........
