    MDT Meeting Result

They believe the primary is the kidney they want one more MDT meeting next Tuesday to decide on camera down or needle in, so they can confirm either chemo or surgery. I think they wanted to meet me also to see how I am feeling in myself, I have caught this early (I think anyway), so they were happy to see how well I look and by the end of the meeting how tough I am. I know I have a war on my hands, but I was honestly expecting them to say there is nothing they can do, Last week I was prepared to...

  • Down but not beaten, want to maximise fitness recovery.
    Preparing for op next week.

Went to gym today, nearly 6 weeks since lymph node biopsy, been very careful not to overdo it. been working out gently not using weights on affected  arm for last two weeks. Normal exercises but just squeezing my fist. Bicep curls, on Swiss ball bracing my core.  Used to bench press 50 kilos but hey1 Can live without doing that anymore. Find it difficult that i can't row on the machine, used to burn 1000+ calories a day. Gaining weight haven't got to grips with that yet. Got major surgery next week...

    That Lump I Found

I was awake as usual at 3.30am on 12 October.  I went to the bathroom and noticed my nipples looked different, it was cold and the right one was rigid but the left looked flat.  I regularly do checks so I felt around my breast and found a hard little lump just to the left of my nipple.  Oh my god I just knew something was wrong.  I went straight to my smartphone app and found an appointment with my doctor at 8am.  I was examined and a referral was sent to the hospital.  It was just unreal, I had...

    Blood counts

    Hi everyone

I was diagnosed with probably follicular lymphoma 18 months ago. Last March my lymphocyte count was 18.8 and looking like chemo by the end of this year. Since then I have taken turmeric tablets for an arthritic knee. My lymphocyte count has gradually gone down to 2.6. Has anyone else found this happening?  I feel very fit and healthy. I do not know if the decrease is related to the turmeric or it is just a coincidence. I would like others points of view.

All the best to you all.

Twenty minutes later and still no title!

A title, it's my blog the title can be anything I want it to be but could I think of one, NO! Hence the actual title. Before you ask yes I did sit staring at my iPad for twenty minutes trying to think of something!

So what did I come on here to say? Hmmmmm good question! I have so much going on in my head but I'm not sure I can put it down in words! You know sometimes it's difficult to find the words. Or maybe that's just me! I know, thanks to the drugs, that my ability to think straight has...

  • My journey
    Let the Christmas festivities begin.

Well, as you can see from the title my latest scans showed no evidence of cancer! To say it’s a relief would be a huge understatement. I’ve tried to put a brave face on my anxiety (not always successfully) but I was extremely worried. The thought of going through all that has happened in the past year to be told my cancer’s come back (it wouldn’t really have gone away) so soon would have been difficult to take. Yes, I know that it may come back in the future but at least for the time being I’m still...

    CAN'T KEEP MY EYES OPEN......

WELL UNTIL I COME TO BED THAT IS!

SERIOUSLY what is it with me! All through the day I am literally struggling to stay awake! My eyelids feel heavy and i feel myself dropping off. In the evening while watching tv I begin to drop off.

    BUT

I walk up the stairs and brush my teeth and jump into bed AND it's like a bloody switch has been flicked and I am wide awake!

Do I enter a parallel universe when I go up those stairs? Does everything go into opposite mode? Or am I just losing the plot!?

    Whatever...

    Progress

I returned to work on a part time basis 17 days after my last Chemo, it's lovely to be back after nearly 3 months off, my colleagues make me laugh and it's good to have some structure and normality that doesn't revolve around hospitals. I'm doing three full days a week, tried to do two days in a row but this was a little too much.

Next week my husband and I have a mini break to Brussells booked, so something to look forward to, we are taking the Eurostar so should be an easy journey...

    So Where's The Bus........

You know, the one everyone talks about!

The one that any one of us could be hit by!

That bus that some how is meant to make a Cancer diagnosis, easier to deal with!

You know the bus that could hit me tomorrow, whereas I could live with Secondary Cancer for Years!

That bus that could kill any of us without warning!

    SCARY thought? Actually no!

You see if I were to be hit by a bus, I would know very little about it! I would be gone! Life ended, all over.

Instead I live every day with a disease that...
