Arrived at the hospital yesterday morning at 8.30 as requested having talked myself into being positive when we got there they did all the normal questions date of birth height weight all that stuff - then they asked me have you been taking folic acid - no I said, it appeared that according to the records they had I should have been.
I explained that I had two appointments to discuss the type of chemo and the decision at the first appointment I was given a prescription for a vitman B injection and...
Well this will hopefully be short but you never know with me :)
I know some of you have been waiting for this, but its been a long hard week, and ive not had time to do much at all , and have been exausted , i also as some of you are aware have had a nasty prob to deal with and will carry on doing that tommorow and thanx to those of you who know and are helping me through ,i will tell everyone else when its dealt with xxxx

So, yesterday afternoon Dad was told that the cancer has spread to his lungs, chest, edge of the heart and liver and he will not survive.
He's going to have RT next week and chemo in 3 weeks to try and ease it and give him a bit longer.
It feels very surreal writing this
september 24th - well another day, another chemo session!!! went up to james cook hospital..or now affectionately known as jimmy c's. went to the mac coffee morning....won chocs . earrings and bath stuff!! woo hoo!! lady luck was shinin today!!!
spent the whole day up there.been for walks, coffee...dinner etc. been lush! have to share with you....i got trev to walk in front of me...bcause i can see his tumour is visibly shrinkin!!! its mad!!!!!!!!!!!! we have looked at pics from last weekend...
Im not sure what to write, no really, i only joined the website today after speaking to a wonderful lady on the phone, like many people i guess i was under the "it can only happen to them" guise but then it happened to me,
next week i start my first sessions of chemo and radio, im scared, nervous and wake up in a sweat over what may happen, i want to thx the people oi met in the chat today, you ladies and gents are the true heros out there

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say that I had my last chemo session on the 22/9/2010. Not suffering too badly from side effects as yet although do feel a bit washed out today and have sore throat. Normally have an injection in my stomach day after chemo but decided against it this time due to the side effects. Just going to take things nice and easy for next few days then will have blood test to make sure all still ok.
Really sad to say goodbye to my chemo nurses as they have all been terrific and...
hi all just thought i would let everyone know peter went to docs this morning as his knee has been playing up ,anyway turns out hes pulled the ligaments ,doctor also had all the scan results which we are going to hospital for on the 7/10/10 cancer not spread anywhere else,so yes we had a good old sob,sobbing with happiness, at last a bit of good news instead of always NEGATIVENESS love to all from jill peter xxxx

Had a routine colonoscopy on Monday, they found a "swellling" and took a biopsy. Despite a clear scan in June (2 years clear since the big cancer op in May 08) am now sprialling with panic that the cancer is back. Don't know anyone or any books to refer to with any experience of dealing with recurrence of a cancer. I can't think of anything else this swelling could be as most other things I think the doc could have diagnosed just looking at it e.g. polyps, diverticulos, colitis...
Thursday.
A visit to see her consultant at the hospital, while nothing can be done the interest shown was reassuring. She used the wheelchair, I really must learn how to get it into the car boot. A further appointment was made for 6 weeks, the consultant saying she was sure she would be able to attend, a real morale booster. At home she used her computer, had lunch and tea (and a snack of a slice of pizza which my aunt brought over), and seemed pretty well. The District Nurse visited, and after...
