district nurse came today to drain my lung......so tomorrow should be a good breathing day....
it's 5 days since the radiostactic radiation therapy I had and she said that my head will be most swelled up now and should start to ease off soon...
my forehead is looking a bit 'tanned' as well......
but...good news....apparently when i start chemo for my lung....it may heal up the gap in it a bit and i might not need it draining as much...

My partner who has Multiple Myeloma has just had his first dose of Pamidronate, bone strengthening infusion and I was wondering if anyone has had these and if so...how you felt etc? Melvin (my partner) is feeling quite rough three days later....feverish and chills, nausea.

My dad is sleeping a lot at the moment.
I read him a few chapters of The Magic Faraway Tree a few nights ago, the story he read to me and my brother night after night when we were young. It meant so much to me. But it was the ultimate bedtime story, knocked him out for days! I didn't see him awake for 2 days after that. You would think I would have learnt my lesson... but when I finally got some time with him last night I read him a few more chapters, and now he is back frolicking in the land...
Round 4 came and went between Christmas and New Year - relatively easy and then we enjoyed New year and the following week of holiday.
Then at the weekend before school starts my body decided to crumble. An enormous ulcer on the side of my tongue gave me an instant sppech impediment and then a painful lump appeared on the back of my left hand disabling my ability to write!
A nice young Indiandoctor in A&E xrayed it and told me it was a ganglion which was ironic for an RE teacher as tradition has...
Well, nothing to do with my C but the last two days have been horrendous.
My lovely 12 year old whippet collie fell ill on Thursday, vets on Friday for barium xrays, another xray this morning to be told she had a tumour in her bowels.
The prognosis for recovery after an op was not good so we sadly had to make the hardest decision to stop her suffering.
So far this year of 2012 and been the worst ever - first my diagnosis and now losing my lovely Bubble.

My nan is 74 n has bladder cancer. in a few weeks she has 2 go for a weekly dose of chemo for 6 weeks My nan is finding this very stressful as she looks after my great nan who is 94 she has tried looking 4 help but seems 2 have had all the doors shut n doest quiet no where 2 turn she also dosnt know what to expect from the chemo
.if anyone has any iformation that may help her in any way i would be very greatfull

Legal position with respect to partial seizures. These do not present a danger to others and I will work in non-hazardous environment but do require about 24 hours before I'm over it. Has anybody had anything similar and made proposals around sick day/ holiday trading?
All bloody day...it was shouting and in a really bad mood..........
