    'Liver Clear'
So yesterday we met with a member of the Oncology team who told us the good news that my partner's liver is clear. Whatever the thing is, it's benign which is just such great news. We still don't have any answers in regards to whether he'll be having chemo or not. They say he is very border line. They don't want to over treat him and they don't want to under treat him. However, if chemotherapy is the answer, it will most likely be a couple of cycles of BEP. Now we just need to wait for them to have...

    My journey......it's just the beginning.

Hello all. I have only just got brave enough to write about this as much I have tried to block it out I was hit by a seizure today which made me decide it's time to talk. It started on oct 17 2012 when I suffered a grand mal seizure at the wheel of my car. The last thing I remember was my right arm forming a claw and feeling like it was being ripped off. I woke up about half an hour later surrounded by paramedics and family along with the truly lovely people who found me. By some miracle I didn...

18th December - day 18 post FEC chemo
It's been an eventful week since I posted my last update! I had my hair cut into a very short pixie crop a week ago today and it started to fall out on Saturday morning. I washed my hair and my hands were full of hair as was the plug hole. I thought I was mentally and emotionally prepared for it, but I cried my eyes out. By Monday, I was molting like a Labrador everywhere! I asked my youngest daughter to come over with her clippers and she shaved my head. We both cried and hugged each other, but...

  • Lung Cancer
    Positivity
Cancer is such a horrible thing, it doesn't care who you are, what you do, what family you have. One thing which helped me through everything is trying to think off even the tiniest bit of positivity in knowing my dad had lung cancer. At least we as family have time, we have time to make new memory's, to laugh and have a small cry about the old memory's. We have time to say goodbye, although no time is ever enough. Some people will go out and never return home, never get the chance to know how...

    Dis-belief

When my dad came home and had to tell me he had lung cancer, I thought my whole world had come to a stand still. My best friend was sick...

He was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, they couldnt operate, and they couldnt rid him off it.. But they offered chemotherapy to stop it from spreading else where.

He has his first round off chemo mid April... it hit him hard. He was very unwell and didnt want to eat - but he tried, for us.. for his family.

They gave him radiation therapy on his brain...

    3rd week in hospital....
So it is now my Wife's third week in hospital recovering from her operation. I am sitting by her bed waiting for her to come up from having her Port-A-Cath inserted. She is still in some pain and her Bowel still is not working. I haven't seen her today as between work and everything else it is difficult to be here all of the time. If I had a choice I would move in. I miss her terribly. That's the thing you notice most, is the loneliness. Silence becomes deafening and you find yourself talking to...

  • Triple Negative grade 3 Breast Cancer - my journey
    11th December - day 11 of 1st FEC chemo
Well so far day 4 and 5 have been my worse days on FEC! I don't have much energy or appetite still and the ongoing insomnia leaves me very tired, but its all manageable and I do what I can each day to keep some kind of normality in my life! I had a little road trip out to Sainsbury's on Sunday to pick up some milk and bread. I was only out for an hour, but it was great to be amongst humans and enjoy the festive feeling in the store. I had a little trip out yesterday for a meeting with my local health...

    Where do I start?
I want to write this blog firstly to get things of my chest and secondly to share our story as I think it will inspire others. I think I should start at the beginning. I am married to the most amazing women. I met her nearly seventeen years ago and we have been happily married for 5 1/2 years. She has suffered from Cystic Fibrosis since she was diagnosed at the age of 3. Back in 2008 she became more and more ill and the hospital stays got longer and longer. She was then put on the transplant list...
