    Blasted fish
Come out, Jimbo, Well, do I feel a right fool! Told my German Shepherd, Roxy, about your fish friend & she rolled on her back on the floor, laughing her head off. She says you are thick, right enough! The fish is telling you its name is Bob Watt! Why didn't you think of that? And you have to keep it because you're its dad now & it would be cruel to send it away. Good news is you don't have to change your name, unless you want to, or need to for some reason, and that's a whole other subject. And you...

    Round 1
Eleven days ago I was due my last chemo and all was going well till the day before when wham I came down with an infection- the third.I ve spent the last 11 days in hospital being pumped full of anitibiotics, sounds like a disaster but the good news is my oncologist decided first to remove my Hickman line which this time tests proved was infected and secondly not to give me the last dose of my chemo. She felt that on balance it wouldnt benefit me and would probably would result in my radiotherapy...

A poem 'Journeywoman' - travelling through the unknown landscape
I would like to share with you a wonderful poem, by an equally wonderful lady who has been fighting bowel cancer and secondaries for the last 6 years. JOURNEYWOMAN I hadn't planned to go travelling when - without warning - they sent me on a journey to a land with no maps. Sometimes I go on foot, climbing slow stairs to the top of towers. On other days I find myself blurring through stations with unreadable names. The lack of a guidebook disturbs me at first...

    melanoma
My husband (who is only 36) has stage 3 melanoma, he's starting radiotherapy next week on his neck after having the lymph nodes removed in January. I'm worried about the side effects as we've been told it will affect his throat and mouth and that he might not be able to eat or drink properly. He's also high risk of it returning, especially in the same area as it had started going beyond 2 of the 6 lymph nodes it had spread too.

I lost my poor Dad on 22nd february. Its been so awfull watching him slip away from us. Cancer is such a cruel desease. We have his funeral on friday . I have got the family to each write a passage on how he affected their lives and got such wonderfull ones for the reading .That has helped to heal my broken heart. Still he is at peace now watching us all from above .

    Have you recovered
Hi Jools Hope you have recovered from your party, I didn't get to join in as I seem to have lost a couple of days due to visiting. However I did remember to wear pink for you (just didn't get the drink). Buts that's not important the important this is that you and your "pink" friends all had a ball. Love Teri

    Feeling more like myself now
The desens chemo over now and I am finally feeling a bit more like myself. My bowels don't want to cooperate exactly, but I haven't been eating like my old self either. The bowel meds they gave me were AWFUL. Bloating, gas...no way for me. I feel that way already!! Lots of water is doing the trick for now. I am on the avastin trial and have to watch my blood pressure each day. I run a wee bit high anyway so I purchased a BP cuff...very cool, and keep track of it. And of course, I have to...

    More good news!
Hi all, Its good to read good news and be able to post good news. Got my scan results after a week of waiting expecting the worst and there is no evidence of disease! Starting 6 months post op oral chemo tomorrow (xeloda) 2 weeks on 1 week off, to help stop it coming back. That's not bad for stage 3 and lymph node involvement. Feeling really positive now. Will have all my 3 girls around tomorrow, so going out for a pint to celebrate! Wishing good news for everyone. Jo x

    Feeling really good post chemo
Have not been on here much lately, since chemo finished on 29th December have been trying to live a normal life and so far have been fine. We went on holiday to Barcelona last week and it was really good.Did not feel tired, walked miles and went clubbing, had lots of late nights, met nice people. The sun was shining and the sky was blue.Got my purse stolen as soon as I got there so had to make about 63 phone calls to various banks etc. Normally I would have been really upset about this but all I...
