    Not a good day!
Well, it was nine weeks yesterday since surgery, and I was having a good day, busy tidying up for visitors this weekend. I have tickets for Madness, Aswad on Saturday night and we're all off to see that. We have a four month old puppy, which we collected a week after I came out of hospital, and she's a bit manic. Two speeds, asleep and 100 miles an hour. She lives in our kitchen, behind a child gate, and I managed to trip over it yesterday afternoon and really hurt my ankle. don't think it's broken...

    Bl**dy H*ll
Not again. Cried for about 2 hours when heard my Mum had to have further treatment (removal of 5 lymph nodes - poss chemo). Just seems like worst thing possibly because her mum (my gran) also hospitalised currently (due to be checked out) with fluid round the heart. Just...too much. I prayed tonight. Just the waiting and the NOT knowing is worse. At heart though I knew this ghost wouldn't be laid to rest after a year - perhaps never will...

    Paranoid malignant melanomaiac!
Sixteen months on from my groin dissection for melanoma, I've spent the last few weeks stressing about a lump in my groin, is it there, isn't it there? Is it a lump, isn't it a lump? I'm sure you all know the routine. Headaches have abounded, and I've lost a stone in weight since my hysterectomy in March... ok ok 7lbs of it was down to large fibroids, but the other 7lb has been involuntary and at any other time in my life would have been welcomed! Well today my 3 monthly check up with the oncologist...

Day 1 - The Waiting Game
Hi, This is my first blog as I only joined the site today. I will start with a bit of history. Last June my husband was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. Fortunately one dose of chemo and surgery appeared to sort the problem and his checks have been clear since Feb. His next one is due in August so we have our fingers crossed! In April of this year my Mum was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer and is currently undergoing chem but has had numerous complications. In Feb, I went to my gp with abdominal...

    Day 63 since surgery!
I've been reading through some of the forums, groups on here, trying to get some sort of handle on what's happening in our world. Some heart warming stuff! Hasn't made me decide yet whether to go for the chemo or not. I don't feel at this time that it's a roller coaster ride emotionally, while coming to terms with the changes to come in my lifestyle...... Advice about chemo or not, comments generally or personal experence would be very welcome.

    I had a big one!!
Just to let you know if anyone is curious, but plucked up the courage to ask about my kidney cancer, I had a frank talk with the oncologist, I'm for paliative care only. My tumour was 8.3 cm and had already spread through the vein and to the lymphs. Been taken off the chemo, as the side effects where killing me before the cancer, but hope to go back onto more after the result of my scan which is coming up soon. But on the good side, so far i'm feeling ok, and would not think that i was a grade 4...

    Boatbum' Blog
Where am I going, what am I doing? After recent surgery, and assurances that they have removed tumour, diverticulitis and perforation, they want to do chemo as a belt and braces. My partner, a naturopthic nutritionist, is agin it, my son was all for it, but after a conversation with him yesterday, he will support my decision whatever that is. From my research s far, I am leaning to the opinion that chemo is a waste of time, and way, way too invasive. I may still be in denial, but I did at least...

    Sweet & Sour
Hi All, Wondering if anyone can offer any tips of foods to eat whilst going through radiotherapy? My mum is halfway through her 2 week treatment for cancer of the gullet and is finding now that certain foods she used to like have completley different tastes, as do drinks. She is off tea and craves milk, but is wanting something sweet and has tried fruit pastilles, polo mints etc but says they have a funny taste. Any suggestions that people can give me would be much appreciated, thanks

hi , i am at present attending two different hospitals as i was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma 6 weeks ago, both these hospitals have told me different things regarding the enlarged auxillary nodes i have ,which is pretty confusing in its self. i earlier had an enlarged lymph node removed from my groin which is where the diagnosis of follicular lymphoma came from .how ever i received this letter yesterday morning which has really puzzled me and left me quite unsure of what is to happen next i...
