    Chapter 7 1/2
Had a surreal conversation with my neighbour yesterday afternoon (I was talking to her out of my window!) She is release co-ordinator for the Oncology Department where I had my surgery, and conversation got around to whether or not I was going to have chemo. I said I really wasn't happy with it, given that it's supposedly belt and braces stuff. She said, why don't you leave it a year and see how things are then. So, that seems like a good position to me and in that year, I'll go for a complete detox...

update on my dad's oesophagus not good
I haven't really been on here much but I have spent a lot of time reading everybody's blogs and profiles etc, I have gained a lot of inspiration and positiveness from you all, you are truly all amazing, is that a side effect (symptom) of cancer once you are diagnosed you become true angels, the nicest people ever? not saying you weren't nice before but I have never met so many lovely people in one place before. Anyhow an update on my dad, he had his scan results today after his 3 cycles of chemo...

    advance bowel cancer-support groups?
Hi friends, was wondering if anyone knew of any support groups for advanced bowel cancer? I am in Warwickshire. I feel this would really help my partner as he always seems brighter when he goes for his chemo sessions and i sussed out the reason why!-its because he chats to other people who have the same cancer and i am certain he would benefit from a support group. We asked our macmillan nurse if our local hospice would be of any help, but she said she didnt feel my partner would benefit from...

    Good News From Me
I had an appointment with my consultant today. We sat, we talked and then the consultant said....... 'Well Keith, I am pleased to say that since your Stem Cell Transplant in March. all of your blood tests have failed to show any protien in your blood'. That took a while to settle in and when it did I had to ask 'Is that good.' He smiled kindly and said. 'Yes you can say that is a good thing.' YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE thanks guys for your support again Keith xx ...

    Trying to pull myself together
It's now 7 weeks since my mastectomy and I feel that I should be able to get on with life and stop making a fuss but I can't stop crying. I'm so exhausted but I'm not getting much sleep so I have no energy or enthusiasm for anything. Friends and family keep trying to find nice things for me to do which is really sweet but I just don't seem to enjoy anything at the moment. I know that I'm lucky that they found it early so I had to have much less treatment than so many others so I feel guilty for...

    leg pain at night
I am new to this blogging stuff, having just found this site. I have had CLL diagnosed for about three years now, and this week suddenly started terrible severe pains down my left leg and groin. The hospital registrar checked for deep vein thrombosis but said it was not that; but could be my lymph gland playing up from the CLL. I am taking Tramaset for the night pain which has worked well. Has anyone else any experience of this type of night pain? Does it go away?
