Hi
Am now four weeks post wide local excision after BC diag. 6th Jan. After three aspirations to remove lymphatic fluid, two weeks of antibiotics have been told due to slight infection still can't see my Dr to sort out date for FEC chemo, soooo frustrating. I feel very well and am anxious to get chemo started (no I'm not weird just want to get it out of the way) :) Today saw my lovely BC nurse who told me had some cording under my armpit and on my arm joint. She told me to firmly massage...
Is it really 6 and a half months since dad died?
Who would've believed that in the last few months my life could change so radically? I feel like a whirling dervish spinning, spinning, SPINNING!!!
A month after dads death I met up with the love of my life again after 12 years. The only man to ever break my heart and still make me go all gooey even after so long. He had come out of a very messy marriage but had two beautiful boys who made me laugh.
We talked a lot and decided to give it another...
Clive had to go into hospital on Sunday due to sortness of breath getting worse and becoming a bit confised and muddled. They have confirmed his blood calcium level is elevated, so treating that and have done a chest x ray which they say is inconclusive. They seem to think it may be the tumour pushing on the lung and making it collapse. We should know more today when they have done further investigations. All the signs seem to be there that the cancer is starting to get the better of him but hopefully...
Well they want me to stay in here for another day.
Dissapointed as I just want to go home.
Hopefully tommorrow will be the day. Just want to sleep in my own bed.
.... to change her mind!
Hrmph ... well, the last blog about first impressions was dated 2nd February and today is the 21st. That'll be nineteen days later, or two weeks and five days depending on how you want to look at it.
No, I haven't become obsessed with my calendar, nor am I conducting a countdown to some forthcoming extravagant event. I'm simply counting the days until my new found friend, or advocate as she likes to be thought of, the BCN (star of the previous blog) makes the...
Well I've been 'prepped' for my sirtex treatment on Wednesday. It was a hell of a lot more traumatic than I was expecting as no one had mentioned needing metal coils inserted into my arteries and veins until 5mins before the procedure, and trust me to be complicated and needs loads of the damn stuff, not at all fun. hopefully all worth it.
Got chemo to go for the next 2 days and then step one of radiation treatment. they're treating one side of my liver at a time. not sure which now...
It is now day 23 since they asked me if I wanted resus if Bert needed it. They stopped all treatment except sedation and pain control 9 days ago, I have lived in his room never leaving it in all that time. They tell me on a daily basis that the end is near. He has a dreadful cough, secretions on his chest, bedsores and is obviously in pain at times. He is on a syringe driver for pain control and sedation. also getting breakthrough Morpine and Midazolam as and when required. They expected him to die...
Mum was diagnosed with NSCLC last Feb, and initially did well with her chemo. The tumour actually shrunk a little!
Now though she has severe pain at the tumour site which regular meds don't help. She has tried Trammadol which justs upsets her stomach and does not seem to help, so I am looking into the next step.
She is a wonderfull woman who never complains and has just been tolerating this for a few weeks. We did't even know had bad things were until she had a C T scan on Friday.
Sometimes...
