(16) A woman's prerogative.....

Less than one minute read time.

.... to change her mind!

Hrmph ... well, the last blog about first impressions was dated 2nd February and today is the 21st. That'll be nineteen days later, or two weeks and five days depending on how you want to look at it.

No, I haven't become obsessed with my calendar, nor am I conducting a countdown to some forthcoming extravagant event. I'm simply counting the days until my new found friend, or advocate as she likes to be thought of, the BCN (star of the previous blog)  makes the return phone call she promised. It was due on Wednesday 3rd.

All I can say is it's a good job I knew not to rely on her and have the wherewithall to go out, ask questions and demand answers for myself.

Yup, BCN (Breast Care Nurse). I would phone her up but it was me that did that last time after six months of silence. I don't give people more than one second chance!

No I don't have a Mac Nurse, not sure if they're available here or not.

I do have a great GP and a couple of good friends that are medical professionals so don't feel abandoned, just annoyed with this nurse. All I can say is I hope she looks after her more vulnerable patients better.

    Hi bad fairy,

I should ask for another nurse...one that is more experienced with technology, ie: one that knows how to operate a phone...it's not much to ask is it?

If she cant face you, or talk to you because it upsets her, then she's in the wrong job.

I wonder if some of these nurses actually realise the impact that this lousy disease has on their patients and their families.

Might be worth asking your GP if Mac nurses operate in your area, if they do, hopefully you'll get a good one.

    Take care hun.

    Hi there BF

When I had BC - the BCN was crap - kept trying to hug me all the time (that's not why she was crap, but it didn't help!)

She made an inappropriate remark when she was fitting me for my false boob.

I think a condition of becoming a BCN should be that you have had cancer - but that's just my opinion.

Give her stick when she does finally phone.

    Take care

  • Hi BF

I only contact mine when I am waiting for results. I did ring her last Wednesday and she did ring me on the Friday as promised. A first!!!!!!!! I gave her some stick once and when I rang her I said I expect you don't remember me. She said Oh yes I do. lol

We have a Mc display at Worcester hospital but I have never seen anyone there.

I contacted McMillan be e mail and they rang me and gave me the number 01527 579575. As you live in the same area as me perhaps you would like to ring them.

    Love

    Sue xxxxx
