so low

Less than one minute read time.

hi all, tim seems to be having a few bad days starting yesterday, he was not his normal self? his breathing has got a lot worse and he goes vacant staring into space and his eyes roll, we called the district nurse to day ! his ankles have swollen up and he was worried about DVT again even though he has daily injections, so she said if it gets worse to call an ambulance, speak to you all soon

    Hi Sandra

First of all let me say I am so sorry for what you are going through.

My mother has just been diagnosed with mets on the brain from lung cancer (she has got cancer on her spine too) and from what you say this sounds a bit like what happened to her. I don't want to scare you as this might not be the same but is there anyway you can get tim checked out? My mum had mets on the spine first. Also, swelling of ankles does sound very much like DVT especially if he has had this before. I would think about calling his doctor or an ambulance it does sound like it needs attention? What about calling the nurse again if you are worried. Love Anita x

hi anita, the nuse came out and checked tims leg, but said its most likley side effects of chemo and a rather large dose of radiotherapy, she just said if his leg feels hard and tight again it might be DVT, so we will keep checking it. many thanks for your reply

    Hi Sandra

Yes go with your instincts! I just understand what you mean when they have low days and I was so afraid when my mum got really ill. It is good that the nurse has been out and that your family are coming and things are looking positive for the weekend. My mum had radiation last week for her brain tumour and she's having some good days now as she was lucky to get radiotherapy in time. So I really hope I didn't panic you! Hugs to you - Anita xx
