    Home at last
My husband Bob is home at last [been home for about 2 wks now] and seems to be settling in. So wonderful for myself and the family to have him home, no more travelling 2hrs a day there and back and having to leave him in the evenings. Mind you we would have travelled to the end of the earth and back again for him. He is starting to feel very fed up now though, his mind tells him he wants to do things but his body will not let him. Try to tell him its only been 4wks since op and its going to take...

Making a decision without being given a stage/grade??? Is this how it is??
Hello I am posting this really for advice for my sister who is 46 and just been told she has invasive ductal cancer in her left breast. She had a negative mamograme after finding a small lump beneath her nipple, went for an ultrasound and had a biosy, then was told by her surgeon to make a decision as to what treatment she wants to pursue. He could not tell her what stage or grade it was and is not clear if her lymph nodes are affected. She was given a Breast cancer folder to read but as i am...

    Daughter's cancer
Hi, I just recently joined, having been on the 'other side', the Macmillan Share site, for almost a year now. Our lass, C has had lymphoma now for over 4 years, diagnosed 20th October 2004. she has had a great deal of treatment, all the usual 'gold standard' stuff, ABVD, ESHAPP, BEAM, Radiotherapy, nothing killed this stuff off so she had a trial drug at the Christie hospital, a 12 week once weekly infusion which ended in September 2006. Miraculously, ever since then she seems to have been relatively...

    Radio Frequency Ablation
Has anyone out there had RFA for secondary liver cancer, or knows of someone that has. I would be interested to hear any comments as it could be a possibility for my husband. He originally had head and neck cancer which spread to the liver.

Prostate cancer spread to his bones
Just found out that dad has advanced prostate cancer and has spread to his bones. We've been told there is no cure, but he is due to start hormone treatment. Dad is 83, not sure how much time he has left or how quickly the cancer spread to his bones. Mom is 79 and is now blind and seems to be in denial. Dad has been the one looking after her. Has anyone else had any similar experience? Dad is of the old school and doesn't really open up to talk about it, it's hard to know how to deal with it...

    Love you Dad xxx
On Monday, as a family we decided to withdrawal my fathers lung infection treatment, declined putting him on a ventilator and go for 'TLC' only. He died just over twenty four hours later (yesterday). I am now haunted by him struggling to communicate through the morphine, how aware was he? Was he scared? Was he panicking? Did he resent us as we sat with him as a family and watched him die, not responding to his requests? I'm glad he is in a better place now but those last few days are haunting me...

    First chemo is over
You all have been so supportive...thank you! So far, a bit of restless legs during the chemo from the benadryl and a wee bit of a headache this moring. Now, I am just tired. I think it is from being so nervous about it all. I feel pretty well, all things considered. So...so far so good. My gratitude: I could feel much worse.

laughing and crying or both together!
I am new to all this blogging but I have been reading all the blogs and I find my self crying over peoples desperate stories and crying over the light hearted ones and jokes. Haven't cried since all my cancer happened, thanks I feel so much better for it. Gill K
