This has felt like 6 weeks of hell .My mum is just her normal self , i spoke to her on the phone last night while i was waiting for my daughter to attend st john ambulance, and she said her legs didn't want to work this morning for ages but for me not to worry as she is ok , pretty pissed off as i would have gone straight over. Don't understand as it's only lung cancer shes got and her legs should be fine. Still feeling dumped by the sevices , no treatment plan , i rang mums macmillans nurse last...
My lovely mum popped over last night with dinners for last night and tonight plus a choc cake....... she says I can then still work if I want but not be too tired trying to cook when I get in too! :)
So, a 'normal' day then. Drop Deri at breakfast club, get to work, switch on computer and kettle. Thankful got all the 'hellos' and 'how are yous' and 'are you oks' out of the way yesterday! ;)
No meetings booked or planned so I can take it easy, but I was Tired...
At last I have finished all my treatments! I have been through a tough year and am relieved it is at present all over....I have been a brave soldier and not really said much to anyone so have ended up with depression which is now being treated.
I wish I had tried to speak to the people that offered to help and let the people who wanted to visit even though I thought I looked awful because of the chemo etc....it was just to say to people just starting out on the treatment path don't be too proud...
Which idiot told me it was a good idea to go back to work?

On Friday 26th August I went into Frimley Hospital to have my vaginial hysterectomy.
This went well, I was on ward by 1500 Friday afternoon, I felt a little let down tho, I would thought the nurses would have been a little bit more caring, I got the impression they thought I was there because it was a hysterectomy, but not because I had cancer.
I needed to allow people ie my mum and partner know where I was and asked them to explain how to use the bedside TV/Phone, and was told you dont need that...
It's not often you want to rave about something.
Anyone who has read my blog knows my mum recently has been controlled by pain to the extent a normally strong and stubborn woman has been reduced to telling us incessentally that she loves us and apologising for all she is putting us through, that and vomitting!!!
Well yesterday at the consultant appointment he gave us a pescription for hydrocortisone 15mg twice daily (tablet form). Kid you not one tablet last night and one this morning and...
So over many years (about 15-18, since he owned his own house, and moved out from his M&D's) Hubby has built up quite a collection of different Whiskys, his Scottish heritage will be proud of.
The collection filled 2 1/2 packing boxes when we moved. We won't mention the one I opened and the cork split and went into the bottle - oopsie. Don't worry decanted and put into crystal decanter. We have a Whiskey label which he hangs on the Bells (perfect for making Hot Toddies, saraledge to use...
Well I have been off work since end of October 2010 cared for my husband and lost him at the end of July. It seems to have been an epic journey full of emotions and now I am struggling to piece back my life slowly. Todays step was huge walking through the doors for the first day of a new term. There was awkward silence followed by hugs followed by tears followed by meetings followed by more tears. However I did manage to see the day through and feel a little bit of achievement at this small step...
