    Moving on

So now it is time to move on, and think about me. I need hugs and affection and not just from the kids, the kind you get from someone special. But first I need to remove David's things. Also to change my bed as someone new may not like to share the same bed I shared with my husband. The thing is the bed cost £7000 and is only 2 years old, it seems a shame to just throw it out, so the question is what to do with it.

    Mum's Funeral tomorrow

Is it only me who thinks funerals are horrible things and should be banned? I'm dreading it. Maybe its because I found mum so have seen her so don't feel the need for a funeral? But then I remember when my younger brother died (sudden heart attack), my mum had to be virtually carried out of the church, her grief was terrible. She shouldn't have had to go through a funeral. It just seemed cruel.

Have been trying to do normal things ... but can't really. Finding it difficult to settle...

    09/06/2012

With all the channels of communication open to me I still feel unable to talk to someone directly. Words are easier to write and delete whereas talking leaves me unable to hold everything in and I'm sure people are bored of the wobbly lip and pretend dust in my eye. My partner's mother has, in the last nine months, been diagnosed with pancreatic, lung, liver and stomach cancer with cells recently discovered in her lymph nodes. After two rounds of aggressive chemo back in March we thought we were...

Little My 2 Cancer 1 I am winning now and that feels good hahaaaa.

GC first thing this morning... drove there in the howling wind and rain and got there early. Got coffee and sat down, played guess the patient cos on bum day its hard to tell sometimes. There was an elderly couple and a woman with a stick opposite me. A lady’s name is called and they all stand up. I reckon it’s the woman with...

    Life still on hold

Feel like my life has been on hold since my husband's diagnosis in November.  I lost him in April and now my dad is about to start chemo for oesophagus cancer and then have a huge operation with a long recovery.

Thank God for this website, somewhere to offload!

    Still fighting

Pat is still stable but needs an intensive amount of nursing and medical care.  They will be coming to the ward in just over a week to give the next Ocreotide injection for the Neuro Endocrine Tumour.

Thoughts are beginning to turn to long term care and I have broached this with him today. Having said this, his heart is failing and it is not longer possible to consider a pacermaker, so anything could happen. One day at a time.

He is comfortable and being visited daily by either myself or my son...

    new moon, new stuff

My lovely sister Mandy lost her brave battle with cancer 24th May almost one year to the day when she discovered it had come back.

The Hospice people were all marvellous and looked after us all during her last almost 3 weeks

my niece (her daughter) even sat exams the Monday and Tuesday the week she died and her caring tutors were kind enough to mark them and give her fantastic pass results within 24 hours so she could tell her mum.

After a really bad night on the Wednesday when we thought she...

5th june the mad 'BIGC' Theme Park

I keep being told that cancer is a rollercoaster but I have decided that it is more like a complete theme park -'BIGC' it's sort of exclusive in that you don't apply for tickets you are specially selected and you receive your ticket ,then you can join the queue for the first ride and this is a ride to can keep coming back to -'the Wating Game ' this is like a ghost train cos for most of it you are completely in the dark and scary things leap out at you , then you have a choice of rides or attactions...
