Here we are post 2nd rchop and steroids session finished - in my down week I guess. And quite tired - but did too much yesterday shopping for wedding suit - father if the bride end of August
Dtr was hoping I wouldn't lose all hair - now getting very thin covering
On the positive - now fit a snazzy 38 regular suit size - fingers crossed for hair and no more weight loss
Quiet week this week - feel ok bar fatigue
I slept very well. I am still surprised at how calm I am. I have told my eldest son and he will tell his brother. Last week I was so anxious yet now I am so laid back its ridiculous. Reading up on it is the key. The more i read the calmer I become. Even when thinking about what songs I want at my funeral, if things go badly, I am still relaxed. I thought it could start with The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Has Ended and finish with All Things Bright And Beautiful.
I have received my appointment for the...
Just an update as I've only just worked out how to use this properly ! Chemo was finished on 26th January , although I didn't experience any sickness I had some horrible side effects , blistered hands , sore and cracked feet , bloody nose , strange brown markings on my palms , and then anninfection in my nails which was horrific. Last week (almost five months this post chemo) my toe nails decided to fall off , just in the middle of all the hot weather - however these are all superficial things ,...
Thirty- six hours ago at on the morning of Thursday 29th of June 2017 it was confirmed, I have bladder cancer. What's amazing is how calm I feel. After a week of frantic anxiety and prayers I had the hospital appointment and, after a flexible cystoscopy, I was informed that I have a tumour on the wall of my bladder about 2.5cm in diameter.
About a week earlier I had noticed blood in my urine. There wasn't much, in fact my urine looked yellowish but when I looked at the white toilet tissue it...
oh dear - just into 2nd rchop and hair falling out! Otherwise pretty good - a bit tired as I did too much today notwithstanding the steroids
Rest tomorrow lamenting what little hair I had is on its way out
went well again with nothing untoward - nurses took amazing care with cannula and time in dripping in the fluids. Took about 6 hours this time - might be shorter next
Good news that blood pressure a bit better 110 over 70: not brilliant but good for me. Also other bloods improved so me need for the transfusion that was mooted. Doc is checking ferretin levels to see if I need more iron
But constipated today so will continue with one sachet laxido plus morning prunes and apricots
As has...
So - made it through first cycle relatively unscathed. Feeling good today and up for round 2 tomorrow
Just got back from blood tests to inform chemo tomorrow
Good to be on no pills save for allopurinol which don't seem to impact day to day health
No laxido for 5 days and bowels coping fine - interesting to see when I might need again
Blood pressure pretty good - still a bit puffed after any significant exercise - doc mentioned possibly upping of iron supplements (presently 210 mg...
I am the 1in 9
My partner has multiple myeloma, he's been in remission for a few months now, but the sex side of things in completely non existent...... we are getting married in a few weeks and I'm just worried this is how it will be forever! I've looked after him for day one of his diagnosis, but I just feel so "alone". I know sex isn't everything but I miss the intimacy as it's been quite some time now!
I has enjoyed a couple of days off work before the Surgery. it was bliss. I walked the dog, I cooked, I read, I slept. Although, I have to admit, by the time I got to Tuesday evening, nerves were beginning to kick in; overtime I thought about the surgery , I felt a bit sick. Neither of us slept well on Tuesday night. Van woke me at about 5am to show me the images of the Grenfell Tower fire. My first, very selfish thought, was that my surgery may be cancelled, as we don't live too far from the site...
